@Marquette, Tues. Feb. 21, 8pm, FS1/570AM

Ellison has been atrocious, but he is not the only reason the team can't defend. The defense consists of some steals and blocks, and not much else. Every team looks unstoppable against us. Then you hear from the announcers how this guy or that guy has been in a dreadful slump until this game, where they can't miss. It's not coincidence.

Granted Ellison played poorly but he played a lot.
The coaches either stubbornly love him as much as they did last year or they think the options are even worse than we do.

Problem with Ellison playing is the coaching staff playing him.
We need better ball movement and D in 2nd half.

Defense a work in progress :)

#mubb didn't make a FG for the final 3:23 of the first half & STILL scored 52 points and shot 64.3% from the field & 69.2% from 3.
Defense has been stellar, just stellar. We all know it has been a weakness all season long yet does anyone see even a modicum of improvement. Tell me again how coaching doesn't matter.

What is upsetting is that this staff seems to have not taught Defense and it is glaring Also I would love to see some pick and rolls and perhaps a little zone Our man to man is just so weak that perhaps playing a 2-3 zone might get our players closer when they are taking 3s

Agreed. The reality is that our Roster just doesn't have enough BE Level of players. Mussini, Yakwe, Ellison, Freudenberg, Ali, would not be on the team elsewhere. Yet, we have to rely upon them and, they don't have the gear.

I blame this deficit on two things:

1. Three point defense has been embarrassing.

2. Malik Ellison has probably single handily accounted for -10. Maybe more

Until that last turnover I thought Lovett was having a very good half actually. On both ends.

Also - that wide open Reinhardt 3 ... was all Mussini's fault. He couldnt stay in front of his man, and that forced his teammates to help. Granted, they shouldn't have left a 3pt shooter wide open. But the play doesn't happen if Mussini could slide his feet laterally.

Ghostzapper, providing a link is normally considered a gracious support to a fellow fan. Tonight, it is a sadist trick.

Yakwe would be in the rotation for any team in the Big East.

HAAAAAAA. I was just thinking that it was pretty mean of Ghostzapper to do that :)

Ellison is a embarrassment and should be benched for rest of game. He has regressed terribly on both ends of the court. And, Mussini can't hit open shots anymore. and, a complete liability on defense. It's been a sad show tonight, no one playing well.
The son of a coach?

I find it hard to believe that Ellison's father played in the NBA. How does he have zero basketball IQ. He made a handful of plays in that first half that you would see 6th graders make playing CYO ball.

Ellison missed everything on an open jump shot from the free throw line, even 6th graders make that.

Don't forget the one he shot off the side of the backboard.

Foxsportsgo is carrying the game as far as I can see.

Thanks. I do have the app, but for some reason, the game is not available at my location. Which again, may not be bad thing at all!

Look the fans deserved a better product than this staff has put together I have not seen much progress on the offensive end they run an play schoolyard basketball and occasionally when they shoot extrm well they will win they always seem unorganized and ill prepared and that on staff for recruiting and not coaching we are getting to say enough Yes they won more than last yr but that was not a diiicult goal to exceed I am lost for words when it comes the the teaching and implementing game plan out of bound plan etc etc I know this is negative but can not find a positive Even if we come back and lose by ten that fact are the facts

Your not missing much its the same old same old

Our ability to finish on breaks has sucked

Our perimeter defense has really sucked

Ellison has REALLY, REALLY sucked
