another very tough game against a team playing with a great deal of confidence , especially after beating Nova the other night at Nova, no easy feat. We on the other hand are in a downward spiral following the loss to the Hall and if there was ever a time to right the ship and try to save the season this is it.
Not an easy team to defend as they have a multitude of players who are all playing well. No superstars but a well coached group that is over achieving to date. One of the big overachievers is Olivier Maxence Prosper, Omax as he is called back home , who has become the complete package under Coach Smart. Something many of us who watched him over the years were never sure would happen, but Coach Smart deserves a ton of credit here. Omax comes from a great family and both of his parents played university basketball at Concordia University in Montreal , with his mom Playing on the National team. In the summer of 2019 when he played with my son I asked his dad about university and he responded immediately UNC or Duke. Omax ended up going to Clemson but transferred after his freshman season. I did not push SJU after that. He finished his high school with Ben Mathurin at the NBA academy in Mexico City.

As CMA often says we got punched in the mouth , well now we have to pick ourselves up off the canvas and punch back hard and draw first blood tomorrow night. Let’s go Redmen.

Great back story!

Imo, we need to have a radical change in lineup tomorrow to get the team focused on team ball.
We play an inexcusable small lineup that has no length and is offensively challenged in the backcourt.
The best college team in the NY metro area, Rutgers, starts a backcourt of 6'7 and 6'5!!!! Both Mulcahy and Spencer and anyone else in the backcourt are scoring threats.
Posh needs to come off the bench and Mathis needs to play shooting guard.
We need Omar to start at power forward. Storr must play more.
Speaking of Rutgers, we had a chance to hire Steve Pikiell
instead of Mullin. Add him to the list of could have beens.

We take a 12-4 lead.
Marquette calls TO and goes on 48–0 run.
Finally a TV TO allows Anderson to rally his troops with this “Joel, Joel, rvsxzxzxx, rvshjkish, Posh, Posh, WEAVE!!
Everyone looks confused.
They run the weave and score the next 6 points. Marquette calls TO and go on a 20-0 run to close out the half.
Out of the half ST John’s goes on a 15-4 run to cut the lead to 76-33
Someone posts “”this team doesn’t quit”

It would ne nice if you did. This is just childish.

Mike Anderson vs Shaka Smart is like bringing a knife to a gunfight.

We will lose at home again and still wont fire the coach.

I want to believe that the team is not as bad as it has shown thus far, and that at some point, we show up. It would be nice if tonight is the start of the improvement we need. I am not one to root against our team because I want to ensure a coaching change. At this point, I think we are going to need that, but I will still root for these guys regardless.

Usually I can't wait for the next game. After the last 3 this will be tough to get enthused about. I think part of the problem is there isn't a player that can excite you on this team. I love what Joel is doing but it's not like watching Champs or Ponds. While both had games where they couldn't shoot well, there were many where they kept us in this game with shot after shot. Jones has the talent to do that but I haven't seen it yet. I should wrap this up but if I were a betting man I would give the 3 and take Marquette.

You forgot the point in the game where CMA says “Just give me 3 minutes “

Pretty hard to see us turning the season around at this point and I thought Hall game was a must game; but beating Marquette at home tonight is the ultimate must game, otherwise best-case scenario is we will be fighting with Hall & Butler for 7th place and an outside shot at an NIT berth. Glad that at least it's an early game.

This will be the first game I can’t watch live. Won’t be home till 1030 ish. Really debating if it’s even worth trying not to see the score and staying up past midnight to watch.

Zach B: "Heard the reason Andre Curbello and David Jones didn't start the last game was disciplinary issues".

The wheels are really coming of the bus

This is definitely the type of game we win to start the hope to build up just to have it shattered again
We said that about the Nova, Xavier and Seton Hall games. This type of thinking is over.

This team and coach cannot wins games against decent opponents for the last month and thats not changing.

Its over until there is a new coach in here.
