Riddle me this. If he can't play, why was he the best reserve out of the 7 that played last night?

Guilty as charged last night. I missed most of it and Cbssn doesn't seem to do replays a la Fox. Was Vince really that bad in his 6 point 0 turnover 1st half to deserve the beating he took on this board? Seems unlikely.

Its such a strange thing that so many are bashing a backup center after last nights win.

Truly bizarre.

I think it's more about bashing the latest man crush before it turns into a full-blown romance that's doomed to be a long-distance relationship because he won't be here next season.

We're just trying to spare some guys a broken heart.

Plus-minus can be a flawed stat, but in this case, it truly wasn't.

Vince will not be here, so no point in anyone getting too attached.

Too late.

He's already a key reserve and the backup center on possibly the best team we've had since 1985. The team does nothing but win with Vince in his current role. He's about to be playing in huge situations for us in two tournaments where the expectations of many fans are higher than ever. How could we not be attached?

According to Evan Miya's stats, when Vince is on the floor, the team's defensive efficiency is 94.5. The only teammate approaching this level is Dunlap, who was 91 -- but the context is that the defense wasn't nearly as connected while he was healthy.

For Ayo and Prey, it's sub-80. Everyone else is between 80 through 85.

Vince's plus minus for the year is a 6! That is almost impossible to imagine.

I just don't think I would describe it as a beating but maybe I would have to re read.

Yes, Marillac can get a little riled up when ripping a player, but for the most part I saw numerous posters who were simply explaining why Vince doesn't work on this team.

And I am glad Vince got a couple buckets. He has a decent touch. But I can only speak for myself here, when he is in the game, I am gritting my teeth watching him run around. It just isn't the right fit. The BBIQ isn't quite there, and he is not in enough control of his body when out there.

We are 25 - 4 and 16 - 2 with the 4 losses by a total of 7 points. It works! Everything works! Vince works!

Which is now locked because if some of you think it's a good idea to derail the Butler thread by putting up 3 pages of posts bashing a player who is a contributor on a top 10 team, then you need to find someplace else to do that. This ain't that place
