Good to see SJU admin on top of things........................

With Marcus Hatten in attendance not even a mention. But plenty of time for Lipscomb to not be able to name 7 items found in your fridge.

this is disappointing and upsetting.

Wow
I wish I had seen him
How about recognizing EVERY former player whenever in attendance!
If this were my alma mater I'd be speaking into someone's face (in a tempered manner of course) and say hey let's be a little more professional and caring here hey??? Industry on it!!!

Good night
Just home to sag h
Long night long drive from Utopia + up very early for dogs & work
But worth seeing the boys play tonight
If I were LBS coach is be proud of how they pushed us!
;)
All the best

I might call St. John's anyway - I'm adept at connecting with someone & throw in my two cents ( wonder where that expression came from?)
Maybe something will be done ( on earth as it is...oh well)

Don't know where it game from but when it started 2 cents may have been worth a lot making the expression now have the opposite meaning of which it was intended. Maybe we should be saying let me throw my million bucks in. :)

Hey SS&G chill & get some sleep!
Fun season!

I mean this only in a good way. As we keep winning, the season becomes less fun. Each game means more and more. Before and after games is more fun, but the during for m becomes stressful. Nice to be relevant and ranked again.

It should be routine for the PA announcer to have the list of notable attendees and locations, and to announce them during full timeouts. Not only is it classy and appropriate, but fans get to warmly greet those former players, and as a nice by product, when play resumes fans are often more engaged and into the game.

I saw Chud Gray sitting courtside at the St Marys game and he wasnt acknowledged either. Instead of hearing about John Wooden and Barron Davis and Pauley Pavilion we should focus on the tradition and the great players St Johns has produced.

Because the last time i saw Baron Davis he could barely even move on the basketball court and he looked completely overmatched.

Terrence Mullin is a few seats away from me. I believe he is a season ticket holder, because he is in the same seats all the time, often with a few of his kids. He is there purely as a fan, which is also really nice to see. Low key type of guy, but will engage anyone who speaks to him. Since his parents sat only a couple of rows above us in the glory days, I feel it's kind of good karma to have Terrence in my section as well today.

Avon, you are so right about honoring our really great tradition of SJU hoops. Not to mention that if I were a recruit, and heard a dozen names being announced during a game, (including a few with NBA resumes) not only would I know if I came here I'd be part of something much bigger than myself. Also I'd know that 10, 20, 30 years from now, whether or not I was a star, fans would warmly welcome me home each time I stepped into this arena.

Terrance comes to a lot of games. So does Chud. So announcing them often is probably overkill. But when a player still playing in Romania comes home there needs to be some acknowledgement. Just shows how Mickey Mouse reigns supreme in Queens.

Fair enough Moose.

Also, he announced on instagram and facebook he would be at thesju game on 12/22 so iys not like it wasnt public knowledge.

I agree - complete ineptitude by Monuts and his minions.

Just so you are aware, the infrastructure in the AD is greatly diminished. Many staff positions have been cut. For example, Dennis Myron for years was the ticket manager, and Melissa was his assistant. Now Melissa is the ticket manager with no assistant.

You have to spend money to do things right. With enrollment down, I wouldn't expect Bobby the beancounter (farm economics major) to invest more in infrastructure until revenues increase.

I have no problem with them not acknowledging Hatten. He was a great player for us. Let's just leave it at that. While we can't forget the past, we must also not dwell on it.

If we acknowledge Hatten, wouldn't we also have to acknowledge every former player that attends every game?

Maybe they can get some Marketing majors to help out.

Is it that hard? It takes what 10-15 seconds?
