March Madness

“I definitely believe we’re going to be in the tournament,” Shamorie Ponds said after Thursday’s loss. “I’m not going to be nervous. If we get in, we get in. We don’t, we don’t. But I believe we should be [in].”

That quote sums up their last month. No sense of urgency left us on the bubble.
I definitely feel like the emotional come back win versus nova convinced our team that they were dancing. Only game they really seemed to care about after that, was the seton hall game because they were still pissed about the way we lost at their place

She loves me
she loves me not
she loves me
she loves me not,

We get in
We are out,
we get in
We are out

Only one time and place to know for sure

6:00 pm Eastern time - TV - tonight
Go Storm.

Agreed. I’d add the DePaul win in the BET to the mix as well. They realized that a loss would have them sitting at home with no hope of a spot in the field of 68.

I like Shamorie, however this right here tells you he "checked out" already. I can't imagine Powell ( who was crying hysterically in the locker room when he thought he was ejected from a game) or Howard would've made similar comments.

I really hope we’re in but I just feel like we’re out. Maybe a blowout loss in the BE tourney quarterfinals after finishing 7th in reg season is unfairly biasing me. Having the second worst NET of all the bubble teams isn’t helping either.

Personally hoping the seton hall loss and some losses without ponds or heron are discounted to some degree by the committee.

Is that what Ponds said??
He's quoted in the article.
He should be chomping at the bit to play in the NCAA Tournament. He might as well have said , if we win , we win, if we don’t , we don’t. Now you why this team was so inconsistent. What kind of an attitude is that?
The kind of attitude he displayed for most of the season. After the back to back Barclay's tournament heroics it was almost as if he was too cool for school.

If we miss out tonight, the only way I'm angry at the committee is if I hear the names Clemson and/or Temple as being in the field. No way do either of those teams belong over us, no matter what metrics you use.

I don't think we have anything to worry about WRT Clemson, but Temple over us is a real possibility, and that will tick me off.

When people on Twitter/Redmen seem to care more about whether we make it than some of the players, that's a problem. You'd think that Ponds would want it more than anyone. I'd like to think this is just a defense mechanism if we don't make it, but regardless that's a bad quote.

Let's not read too much into that. He could have easily meant "I did my best and can't do anything about it now."

That's how I took it, as well. It's basically what Mullin said, too (though he was more diplomatic in his wording).

Idk.. maybe you're right. I think make more of a "I hope we get in so we can show people that we're better than how we've played."

But it is what it is. Hoping we get called tonight. Fingers crossed

I like how this Auburn team is playing. They are kinda fun to watch. They're also hot, too! They've won 7 in a row, and what looks like to be 10 out of their 11 games. They're kicking Tennessee's ass (up by 22), as they're hitting 3's from everywhere.

Agree 100% , defence is crazy intense and sharing the ball beautifully on offense. Samir Daughty having a very nice game. Would have helped us. Pearl screaming at his kids to REBOUND and play D. Lol.

Bruce Pearl is a lot of things including shady, a bit full of himself. But he can flat out coach. Auburn was pre-season top 10 and was a bit of a disappointment for a good part of this year, but man they are coming on like gangbusters now.

Happy’s guy, Hasahn French, had another rugged rebounding day as St Louis advances to the Dance beating the Bonnies.

Could not find Zach Brown’s name in any box scores. :)

That ending was thrilling. Bonnies, who start 3 freshmen, panicked down the stretch

Schmidt has done a nice job at Olean.Yes that last sequence was rushed and out of sync.

Zach had a triple double-stole 15 candy bars, 12 cosmetics items, and 10 batteries from a local Rite Aide. ;) :) :(

They will live and die by the 3 in the tournament but Cincy can make you look ugly. Kelvin Sampson is an easy guy to root against.

I'm watching Houston for the first time and I'm not impressed.
