How come all these great Boys and Girls players aren't ranked anywhere close to players like Dom and Amir?

How come Boys and Girls players don't become big time college players in recent years?

I like Meleke, but Garrett's basketball IQ, court savvy, and athleticism are on a different level than Meleke's. Garrett's potential is through the roof, and he has every intangible you can ask for on top of the physical talent.

That's exactly what I'm saying ,,ALL I RED ABOUT WAS how TALENTED AMIR was how much of a talent he was, high CEILING and all the other RECRUITING GARBAGE these dudes throw out there.. I Went to IS8 when he played with panthers AND HE DID NOTHING!!!!! all I seen was a atheletic big man who can't shoot and has hard time scoring.THAT'S my Whole point tho ..let's take MALIK for example who played in the A DIV for a while ,NYC HS BBALL PUBLIC SCHOOL HAS 3 DIV ...AA,A,B with AA BEING THE BEST OF THE BEST MALIK WAS leading entire PSAL in scoring while playing in the A DIV,I never RED ANYTHING ABOUT HIM OR EVEN HERD ANYTHING ,,its only when he TRANFERED TO AA THAT ,,you GUYS MAYBE STARTED HEARING ABOUT HIM ,,how do you lead ENTIRE PSAL IN SCORING AND NOT HAVE 1 OFFER? not ranked ,BUT THEN YOU PLAY NUMEROUS TIMES WITH A.KID WHO IS RANKED AND I CAN SEE WITH MY OWN EYES WHO IS THE BETTER TALENT ..SO now when u get some INTREST (HOFSTRA) he jumps on it that's how I see it ..I can't tell you why amir is rated ahead of MALIK ...I asked reporter from ny post same question the answer I get its not all about basketball its about QUALIFYING ,well then I said WELL AMIR DIDN'T PLAY RIGHT AWAY so wats the answer to that ......RANKINGS most times are TIED INTO THESE SUBSCRIBTION SITES ...IT'S BS IN MY BOOK NO NYC KIDS ARE EVER RATED UNLESS THEY HAVE SIGNED but then you look at other kids from other states who are RATED AND NOT SIGNED ....IT'S A JOKE!!!!!!

I think Malik can play but Amir Garrett is way better then him.

Jay,

You know IS8 is a guards game. Garrett is not an alpha scorer and his handle is not his strongest assett, so IS8 was not the venue for him to showcase his skills. His basketball IQ is off the charts, he sees the court and passes the ball better than many point guards, and he is a tenacious competitor. I really think this kid has NBA potential if he improves his handle and becomes a consistent deep threat.

Give me Garrett all day over Nichols--and I really like Nichols. What impresses me so much about Garrett is how he does everything in the flow of the game. He sets screens, spreads the ball around, takes his man off the bounce when he has a step, hits the glass (our best offensive rebounder relative to position IMO), he shoots when given space, and he gets after it on defense. Again, his IQ is off the charts. Garrett's drives to the basket will be damn near indefensible as others develop their scoring ability. This kid is a stud.

I don't know how you guys keep up with so many boards. I have trouble keeping up with this one and occassionally peek in on JJ. It gets real dicey for me during winter meetings for baseball/free agency trying to juggle this, work, trade rumors and the local basketball season. I think I need a new job because I clearly need more time.
