LJ Status
we keep Figgy with what we have back and coming in NCAA bound! GO Johnny's
Assuming there’s a season

IMO LJ needs St. John's as much as St. John's needs LJ.

CMA and his staff will provide LJ with development skills and a more disciplined game which will enhance his ability to play professional basketball.

That being said I sincerely wish LJ the best in whatever he decides. He seems like a great young man.

I’d add, with the health of the planet in flux for the foreseeable future, might not be the best year to go looking for pro money to begin with. Economies are gonna be suffering for a while and money won’t be back flowing for a while. Hope he returns but if not wish him the best.

I realize college is not for everyone, especially those who can make $ playing a sport they love somewhere in the world, but to be 1 year out from a degree and not complete has got to be a hard decision, if not NBA bound.

I hope he comes back as a fan of team too.

Needless to say, a few different considerations this year than in prior years. Wish LJ the best whatever he decides (nothing obvious about his decision) and we'd love to have him return.

If he comes back, I'm concerned that Williams will transfer. I don't think he wants to risk being a bench player another year.

Huh?

I hope LJ returns. There's a lot of uncertainty right now. When will practice resume. Will there even be a season next year?

The team needs Senior leadership more than ever.

I was thinking the same thing, this is probably the worst possible year ever to leave early with eligibility remaining, with all the travel bans, it would be risky not knowing when those will be lifted, and as you said a lot of countries economies are being affected by this.

It will interesting, Williams has played well, but as you said if LJ comes back will where does that put him with Cole coming in. You'll have Dunn, LJ, Cole, Williams, and Posh all competing to be starters at those 3 guard spots. LJ's probably the only one that'll 100% be a starter with no doubts. You can probably put Champaigne as a lock at the starting 4 spot, and Earlington backing him up. That starting 5 spot is going to be interesting as well with Roberts coming off of injury, I'm curious to see the quality of big/s they will bring in this off-season.

LJ leaving, in my view, only impacts whether we bring in an additional player. Has no impact on Williams or others who are now established starters or rotation guys. With a coach who will routinely play 9/10 guys decent minutes, for a team in which guys will have some foul trouble many games because of the aggressive defense, and with the pace Anderson's teams plays at, I wouldn't be concerned that LJ returning means a Williams leaves. He has developed nicely under Anderson's tutelage and will continue to flourish in what is a perfect system for him. Also appears to have a very grounded intelligent father who routinely praises CMA and staff on twitter.

We will have 120 minutess with this 3 spots among 5 guards to distribute thats 20 + minutes per game under this system that's actually a good thing and that's barring any injuries, mgriff is odd man out, IMHO. I would love them to all stay...

Williams and LJ play two totally different positions. If LJ comes back I’d be more worried about Earlington transferring.
