If people remember I had put up a thread about one of our own. Longtime member " Northshore " who was having a lot of health problems. Well now he is awaiting a liver-kidney transplant and I just saw on his facebook page that friends of his have set up a fund to raise money for all the uninsured medical costs etc which as everyone knows nowadays get out of control real quick.

So I cant think of a better cause for anyone whether you know him or not to help one of our own. Whatever the amount anything is better than nothing. And it looks like it's tax deductible also

If at all possible let's help one of our own.

I'm making my donation today

Northshore is a great guy. Although I've never met him in person, I have fond memories of a decade ago when I joined the site and was still a student at UConn (and probably a little reckless on these boards to some who weren't accepting), he went out of his way to calm me down and make me feel like a member the community.

yeah we need to photoshop an SJU shirt :)

But other pics in that album on the page have him in SJU gear I think
 
I spoke with North Shore yesterday afternoon
He's a great guy
I am pleased to say that he was in good spirits
Hope you're feeling better soon, my friend!!
 
Thanks for all of the kind words everyone, I greatly appreciate it. I will be doing some auctions from a few contributors. When a sports item comes up, I will let you know. If you know of anyone or team/league I would appreciate an auction item.
 
Redmen.com poster " firestorm" is donating his redmen.com fantasy football winnings to the cause. Since I hadn't sent him the check yet for the winnings he has authorized me to mail it on his behalf to the charity for your benefit
