Lenn Robbins on STJ vs UCONN - Feb. 6

Lenn Robbins is obviously yearning for St. John's to become a team to be reckoned with once again.

everyone is, once this team makes it back full force and becomes a perennial tournament team, with a person like Lavin, they will get more media coverage than the penn state scandal.

NY is a pro sports town but also loves winners. This team needs to start winning consistently, once that happens The Garden will be hopping once again.

OK, leaving Albany at 3 to make the game ...meeting another relic alumnus from the ancient past.
Disapponting about losing the 3 guard lineup and the better flow w/out Branch but
we can take them anyway.

Agree, even 2 years ago when we broke into the top 20 and beat some ranked teams- MSG was buzzing.

I will never forget how the garden felt when Hardy made that off balance layup to beat pitt. hands down best MSG moment for me.

Was at that game too- Crowd was going crazy for about 5 minutes. If there has been a storm the court game for SJU in the past 10 yrs- that was def it.

I was there too, with my son. Talk about a bonding moment!

I'll also be there tonight with the Mrs. It'll be fun taking MetroNorth back home after the game with all the drunk Pukon fans. ;-)

I was at the Duke win that season w/ my son- he was 9 at the time- talk about a bonding moment-- we still talk about that game. The Brownlee dunk is still fresh in my mind! Please was ROCKING!!!!!

Just say to any Uconn fan you see " What are the girls off tonight?" ....I use that line every game vs them at MSG- pisses them off.

I absolutely love that line! Given the opportunity, I will definitely use it tonight. Thanks!

i really hope we have a nice sized crowd tonight.....the players deserve it and it's (in my opinion) the biggest game of the season and an absolute "must-win" if we want to be in the conversation for an ncaa bid down the road....

Age and Generation
I'm not so much into the name-calling, teasing whatever, fighting over sports teams, "getting to them" - which I understand and participated into back in my "college days"; I recall Army playing Pittsburgh so the theme for that week was "Under the Arrrrmmmm Pitt!"; a general cheer was "Kill Rabble Kill!" with the middle word standing for our cheering in general; of course this(kill) offended many especially during the Vietnam War times with death, conflicts and the like. Cadets were told to stop it.

And there was some vulgarity/crudeness thrown in but not like today when audibly at the games one can hear BS etc. And not like to day where the F and N and B words fill many songs which I hear teenagers play.

It's a different era and posters here are from different generations. Not trying to offend anyone but let's face it, many human beings evolve and what they are in their twenties is not what they are in later decades of life. Nothing new here. My parent were not crazy about Elvis or the Beatles. Believe it or not (Ripley's?) growing up in dear Brooklyn in the 1950s in some places saying the words hell, suck, pregnant, divorce etc. were found offensive and to be avoided. The F and N and B words? forgetabouditt! They were way off the chart.

Enough. The notion here was simply to say let's beat UConn.
Not only can I not stand there arrogance and their lopsided record over us in recent years, but this is one of the few remaining games that is winnable - especially at home.

Hope we get a W tonight and

all the best.
