I hope Fatcesa knows something about the team and asks him about Sanchez but I'm sure he doesnt. Probably get a lot of chatter about realignment.

Francesa is one of the most negative and depressing guys to listen to. He very rarely gives teams props it's always about what's wrong. When people call in he is a dirtbag to them. I respect him for all the years he has been successful in the business of sports radio, but I think it's time for a new guy in his place. I love listening to guys like Stephen A. Smith, Rothenberg, etc. on ESPN New York. Very entertaining and informative at the same time. Had enough of Francesa's monotone droning voice.

Steven A. Smith is entertaining and informative? Those are two adjectives that wouldn't make any of my lists with regards to Steven A.

1. His unfamiliarity of NFL rules is comical. He didn't know when a FG is missed, no matter what down, the other team gets the ball. He was hammering a coach that he should have tried a kick on third down in order to get another kick. The only way you get another shot is if the snapped is botched and you recover it on third down.

2. He is an arse for trying to be ESPN cool.

And I don't even like Francesa. Aside from his on air naps, he has a very unhealthy man crush on Micky Mantle.

I'm sure every sports radio personality makes mistakes, but Stephen A. Smith is the most entertaining to listen to IMO. I don't really understand why everyone hates him. He is raw and to the point which I like in an age of political correctness. I'm also a big fan of Joe Beningo (bro). >-)

Kranmars, agree with your comments about Smith. Couldn't believe he actually thought teams kick FGs on third down because if they miss, they get another shot at one on fourth down. That goes way beyond "making a mistake," especially when you're on ESPN.

As for Joe Beningo, he's passisonate without being preachy, and unlike Francesa, he's self-effacing and never talks down to listeners or takes a positon of know-it-all superiority. In other words, he's the anti-Francesa.

I can't listen to the interview here at work. Can someone please post a synopsis of the interview when it's over. Thanks.

Francesa is a guy making a high six figure salary (if not millions) being able to talk about sports all day. He has it made living a dream, yet you are correct all he seems to do is talk down to listeners and act arrogant. The only good thing that came from him recently was his epic Mets rant lol.

I forgot to listen to it. Anyone?

Oh and Francesa >>>>> Steven a Smith. But then again static is greater then Steven A

Great interview, I could listen to Lavin talk all day. Mike did a nice job asking about the team and let Lav speak. I'm pumped up for tonight!!! Lav said he is starting a small line up.

I watched the interview with Coach Lavin and thought Francesca did a credible job. He asked good questions and gave coach a chance to give answers. I thought coach was very upbeat, showing no sign of negativity about the going ons in the conference. He is excited about this team. He says the only thing they can control is the product they put on the court. We will continue to work hard and strive to improve daily. About coaching and team changes, he really wasn't overly excited about it. He says it is part of what goes on today. I liked the interview, and felt better after hearing the coach.

he was very very positive about DAngelo, saying "a guy that can shoot 20 points in his sleep", "making all of his free throw shots, 93% shooting from the line"

Not a big Francesa guy but in fairness he did a very good interviewing Steve.

It certainly doesn't hurt that it's impossible for Steve to give a bad interview.

Mike was glowing in his praise of Harrison.

In fact, it was a ready made commercial for selling tickets.

Good listen but nothing substantive on Sanchez or realignment. But in reality what could he say?

Francesa is making millions and has been for quite some time.

That said, since he has the money, it really gets my "irish" up that he stiffed his ama mater after promising to fund a scholarship 6 years ago at the annual President's Dinner at The Wadorf. Not exactly an alumnus of the year candidate.

As an FYI, if you have the time and inclination below is a link of a 2004 New Yorker article about Francesa and Russo.
