I think Lavin uses that excuse when he gets pulled over for speeding. But yea what will he do next year with Sanchez and GG? Average age will be closer to 30 :)
 
BTW Carton's bit about Suzyn Waldman announcing Mariano Rivera's last game was hysterical and will be pretty accurate.
 
Hope they mention Notre Dame Shooting 3's with 3 minutes in the game ,a full shot clock, and a 26 point lead leading up to the fight. Not an excuse for what happened, but I haven't even heard the point mentioned.

What would be the point of mentioning it, it is not against the rules and we are not talking a stacked CYO team against a bottom feeder CYO team. Poor sportsmanship, perhaps (it is not something I would have done). Could they have backed the ball out and run some clock, sure, but who's to say they would not have wound up taking a three then?

You don't want to keep someone from running up the score against you, then stop them. No excuse for Sir Dom's actions and for anyone on our side to bring it up would sound like sour grapes and trying to deflect blame from Pointer.
 
Worse is Big Mike on the Fan. He was laughing and ridiculing "the voice of St. John's," (Mink man) how they were not making the NCAAs for another year and how he now needs to find another team to root for during March Madness . He was laughing like it was the best thing ever. He should be ashamed to call himself an alum. As an alum myself, I renounce him as a Johnny! Mike, you're fired!

Hope Mink fired back that Fatso's team is barred from all post-season play this year and that next year they'll be playing in a less-than-elite conference. Then again, UConn is probably no longer his favorite team now that his best buddy Calhoun is gone (Or is Parcells still his very best buddy? Hard to tell.) Fatso's probably looking around for a new team to root for and a new best buddy to bond with ... one with a winning program, of course. Don't count out seeing him wearing a Syracuse or Duke sweatshirt next year.

I agree Lavin should not bring it up, but the announcers could. In the past Brey's mentor coach K has been accused of running up the score when scuffles broke out and it was always a point of discussion with the announcers. Brey must have known this because after the fight he had his team run out the shot
clock without taking a shot. Yet former ND coach Phelps and Knight said nothing. Again, I'm not defending Pointer, but I truly believe that if we were North Carolina or Kentucky, there would have been a 5 minute discussion on ESPN about whether ND was wrong to be throwing up uncontested 3's when the game was over.
 
Francesa had a fight and is not close with Parcells anymore; two big egos and big ***holes.

When they were friends and Giants camp was up in Albany MIke and Bill pull a Caddy into a handicapped parking spot in a local steakhouse and refused to move it.

Two guys that achieved a lot in their professions, but world class ****bags as people.

Didn't know they broke up. How sad. Reminds me of the Everly Brothers song "So Sad to Watch Good Love Go Bad."
