Lavin "Off" the Hot Seat

I enjoyed the irony of the article and timing even including the fact that they might lose to Villanova

Oh he's very much still on the hot seat...and it's way too early in the season for an article like that.

Lavin is gone next year if he doesn't get the likes of a Sampson and Diallo. Do you honestly believe he would stick around with such stalwarts as Jones, Joey D, Balamou, and ADR?

I would think that is spot on!!!

Lose the Under Armour pull up under blazer look. It is horrible

I really think he does it to piss off people at the school who complained he was underdressing for events. You can't complain about me now -- I'm wearing a blazer like you insisted.

Sounds like a rebellious child to me

Agreed. A white or blue shirt and a tie looks much better on him.

Bill, Beast, welcome to the club! We have meetings the third Wednesday in the lobby of Carnesseca Arena. BYOB

Have you heard that someone said something to him LJSA? I'm very curious to know.

Dress code for meetings?

I hope the same people complaining about Lavin's wardrobe are not the same ones who want Naclerio on our bench. I don't think he even owns a shirt with buttons.

Btw, several coaches have gone (at least sometimes) to the no tie look. Hoiberg and Brey are two that I noticed recently. Soon, they may follow Lavin and wear the "Al Sharpton court outfit."

No, unfortunately no connections within the administration. But if I were in power, i would tell him to dress up when representing the university. And conversely, if I were him, depending on who told me, I'd purposely be a dick and wear a ridiculous outfit like he's been doing.

I'm sure there are a few posters who could definitively tell me if my theory were way off the mark, though.

Was told recently Lavin is writing a book on lessons of life and dressing for success. Shocked to hear the title is "Commando" Those Cali guys. :)

Lavin's attire is aimed at generating attention for himself. Not the team. Himself. And guess what, it's worked. He knows PR, if not coaching.

Lavin can win the Big East then go on to win the NCAAs and then they can move the Olympics up to this summer and he can win the gold in basketball and he wont be back at SJU in September.

By who's choice? Just wondering since this statement is vague. I wouldn't blame him for leaving nor would I blame the admin for asking him to leave (though if what you stated above was the case I don't think they could do that and then expect any decent coach to take the job, LOL).

Hit is stretching reality to make a point. We may barely make the Ncaa's, we will be disappointed in an NIT bid and he needs a huge recruiting class with players who want a ton of minutes. If he cannot get players with the amount of playing time available then he is useless to St. John's and even a moron like our AD sees that. The wild card will be President Bobby.

Well hey, if he's a wiseass about that, then there's a simple solution.
Plus it looks more and more like top recruits want no part of Lavin and the circus over here.

People here who truly love SJU know what the best direction is, and that's a change at head coach.
Anyone who thinks other has blind faith in him.
