Lafayette gave Miami a game on Monday, lost 67-54. Had the lead at halftime and got a good amount of scoring from their bench, was tied with 11 minutes to go. CJ Fulton had 17 in the game, averaged 7 pts 3 assists as a freshman.

They were picked last in the Patriot League, though.

My guess is they'll try to do what Merrimack was not successful at, and keep the game in the 60s.

I always get confused between Lafayette and Lehigh.
Which is the good one?
Lafayette and Lehigh have a lot of similarities:
Both are very good academic institutions
Both are in the state of Pennsylvania
Both are in the Patriot League
Both have endowments over one Billion dollars

The differences include:
Lehigh has approximately 7,000 undergrads; Lafayette has approximately 2:500 undergrads
Lehigh is a University known for its strong engineering programs;
Lafayette is categorized as a college and features more or a social science curriculu.
Lehigh’s admission acceptance rate is reported to be 22%: Lafayette 29%.
Lehigh’s US News rankings is #51 National University; Lafayette is ranked #39 as a National Liberal Arts College.

Assuming this should be a win without too much of a struggle, these are the things I’ll look for in this contest.

1. Transition defense after full court pressure, not giving up wide open threes.
2. Curbelo, good passing without the mustard and better on ball defense. If Posh and Curbelo play together, their defense better be stellar.
3. Consistency (three point shooting) from Jones, Mathis, Pinzon, Posh
4. Soriano being more assertive offensively against an inferior opponent.
5. More play time for Storr. As Anderson’s highest rated recruit, I would hope he gets in the game sooner then this past game.
6. Contribution of our bigs… Nyiwe, Stanley and Keita
7. Efficiency of the zone defense.

It will also be interesting to see what King and Wusu bring to the table in their roles but as I have mentioned before, my biggest concern with this team will be the defense which I really believe has hindered the teams ability to seek post season play.

92% chance of victory, according to ESPN's matchup predictor. I didn't get a chance to see what the number was against Merrimack.

Oldest rivalry in college football: 157 times since 1884 with only one interruption in 1896.

Doing some digging on Lafayette to prepare, they seem to be not great, to say the least. The whole "they gave Miami a game" thing is not really indicative of how well Lafayette played, but how bad Miami was.

Lafayette was 6-16 from the free throw line, was outrebounded by double digits, shot 29% from 3 yet hoisted 34 times. They aren't a deep team for first year head coach Mike Jordan, only 7 guys logged significant minutes, only 6 of those guys really did much. Their captain CJ Fulton was the main scorer. Should be another strong 20+ point victory.

Always think of Brian Ehlers when I see the name Lafayette. Played against him (and his brother) many times. Good, heady, player. A coach’s son for sure.

Hey does Mike Jordan have any eligibility left? His name alone should inspire some good play? 😂👍

I think we have a shot at not giving up second chances. That will help the d and help us get down the court. Bigs who can make the outlet pass is a beautiful ting.

My wife's sister and BIL went to Lafayette so don't ask them this.

But it is interesting that two small schools.like that have the longest rivalry in college football. And it's a good one too, the small school version of Michigan/OSU

LIVE STATS

Havnt given up a basket inside the arc. Few of those 3s were well contested. I think the defense has been really solid so far.
