Kentucky and Kansas boards

Are they wrong though? UK wins these recruiting battles every time. We saw it half a year ago when they came out of nowhere and got Briscoe. In terms of Diallo, even our own insiders are saying it'll be Kansas or Kentucky.

Yes but they had slice then now we have him Hope it helps

Slice was there for one year. Cal's been recruiting like this since he got there.

I don't care to read other team boards. As far as player regression, the Harrison's didn't regress IMHO as they were probably better this year than last. Coming out of high school and playing AAU and Jigh School ball then playing D1 ball is different. Scouts got to see them more against overall better competition. And other kids emerge. Being. McD AA guarantees you hype and proves you can dominate High School competition but that doesn't mean you will make that same jump in college and the pros.

I have said previously, if you are good enough, the Pros will find you no matter where you play.

Good post. This is also why the NBA doesn't want kids to jump straight to the pros and is instead trying to decide if they should make the rule 2 years. It helps a lot of GM's from avoiding career ending mistakes.

Driving to work this morning I was behind an suv that had 2 university of kentucky stickers on it. All of a sudden I got angry. I wanted to ram into them. :)

I think the proper response is to "slice" their tires.

Nice.........cant believe I didnt see the potential for a play on words there ....When I was Mullin it over what to post I wish I thought of that.

The Kentucky board is hilarious right now. Those self entitled aholes can't believe another top recruit (Brown) chose Cal. Their roster and class is better than 95% of schools but they think it sucks.

so much for Briscoe claiming that whichever school he goes to he will bring talent with him. Cannot believe Cal has to work the JC and transfer wire now..

or bring back the Harrison twins.

They really are self entitle aholes. You are right. Still an amazing class of recruits and they bitch.

Correct Bradley. He thought he would recruit whoever he wanted to follow him. Think it would have happened at St. John's. Even though we all would have loved to have briscoe and I suppose Sampson and diallo would have come here too, kind of glad he didn't come here as that set off the whole chain reaction to lavin not being here anymore. And Im sure 99% of us here are thrilled to see what Mullin and crew have in store for this program. Sweet sixteens could be more the norm once things get into full swing with Mullins fingerprints on the program. Then we can bitch like the Kentucky boards when we don't make it past the sweet sixteen because we expect it with the quality of our product. :cheer:

From your lips to God's ears!.. These kids produce better than expected next season I believe we will have the attention of tons of recruits...

I read the UK board a few weeks ago and one poster said NY is going to be more difficult to recruit W Slice and Mullin at SJU.

The bar is set very high there. any kind of drop off in recruiting and/or success on the court is going to get the faithful bitching and moaning. something tells me that Kentucky may have a few mediocre seasons on the horizon.

I haven't even looked at their roster, but I assume there are still talented kids.

But all it was going to take was one year where all the top kids realized they don't need to play in a platoon at Kentucky when they can get 35 minutes elsewhere. They were going to the NBA anyway. All the kids this season sacrificed playing time and they still didn't have a national championship to show for it. And the Harrisons may not even have long NBA careers to show for it.

There is still some talent, but this won't be the typical Cal team. If we get a good PG, they won't be much better than us. I can't believe they lost Brown. That would have made them a top 5-10 team.

That is one thing that recruits need to consider with UK. They do have a down year every so often due to the model Cal uses. You don't want to be on one of those disappointing teams. Take Briscoe and put him on SJU, an we are the better team.

Not sure how good he is with the X's and O's, but I came away really impressed after hearing Cuonzo Martin in an interview out here. I can definitely see him winning a lot of in-homes if he gets to that point. And of course the Cal campus is beautiful. Shocked they were able to land a top kid from 3,000 miles away, but he made a good choice.

Cal is a sleeping giant of a school and Cuonzo Martin is waking it up with this recruiting class. They have a beautiful campus in a beautiful part of the country. The weather is great all year round and academically the school is top notch. The basketball facilities are also very nice.

Definitely with this recruiting class but unfortunately no one cares. It is sort of like BC. For whatever reason very little interest in basketball despite everything. Every once in a while they make a hiccup and get a little interest, then back to form.
