Another great and classy guy. I remember that game. Bill Wennington got in early foul trouble and Stewart game into the game and played extremely well on both sides of the ball. He deserved those cheers.

Great moment for Stewart. Coach was ready to put Wennington back in the game and Bill politely refused. Long Island guys sticking together.

And when he did eventually go back in, the game was no longer in doubt and they both embraced as Stewart left the court and Wennington returned to it.

I was there but also video taped it and remember Al McGuire pointing out what a great moment it was and was what College Basketball was all about.
