Couldn’t you as easily make the argument he’d actually be enticed by a weaker roster because he could come back and showcase his skills more
I was thinking the same thing. It's not like Duke is going to come calling and he's going to be their number 1 option. Sure there may be some good situations out there that could appeal to him. But there is no guarantee any of those will be a better showcase of his skills. Next year this is set to be his team, he will be the leader.

This isn't that complicated.  Players want to play.  The players who left were likely told that they were not going to be starters next season, or that they would have to earn their minutes.  That's probably the deal with 75% of the high-major players in the portal.  They want to either go down or elsewhere so they can be The Man.

Posh, Julian and Wusu don't have that issue.  Posh and Julian know that they are The Man.  Wusu knows that he's headed there.

So unless Julian is comfortable that he's going to be drafted in the area that would tempt him to go, he'll be back.  His set of motivations is completely different from the departures.  And (unlike our roller-coaster posters, who go up and down with every win, loss, addition, or departure) he knows that the staff will put a team around him that will be capable of succeeding.

I get it Fordham. We’re all hanging by a string waiting for news. Were programmed to expect bad things to happen. That’s SJU fandom.

A month ago we were an OT from going to the tourney. Now it feels like we’re starting almost over.

here’s to hoping for the best!

Assuming we won that game, didn't  we still need to win 2 more games against pretty tough competition in order to get to the tourney?

Many were talking that game up as a play in game because at the time both SHU and STJ were in the last 8 out list.  Of course see how that worked for the Hall?  Losing to GTown, and then them going on to win the tourney, hurt Hall's resume as a bad loss and then also led to one less at large bid.

But I think whoever won that game had to beat GTown as well to have any confidence going into selection Sunday.
