Keegan Bradley

Mav has been around forever it seems and never lived up to the expectations. But looking at his history he's done well in match-play over his career. Griffin is limited in that respect.

I was ready to write Griffin off after the first 3 holes yesterday but boy did he come back after that. Showed he's a fighter/grinder. Mav and Griffin and Burns are all the same age and generally the same world golf ranking. Burns did win the Match Play a couple years ago too. I think Cam Young is a given so it's likely to come to one of these three for the last spot and they're about the same right now with all positive trends. This is all assuming that Keegan chooses to be a playing captain the delegate much of his responsibilities.

At least he has Furyk as an assistant since he's been a captain before. It's too bad Tiger hasn't thrown his hat in to help. Or maybe he will if Keegan picks himself. Not much else from the assistants with Kisner, Webb, Sneds and Woodland.

Props to Tommy for holding on. Few times today he could have crumbled and didn't.
Keegan was within 3 but dunked one on 15. Should finish Top 10

Cam Young and Burns in the Top 10.
Griffin just outside.

Really interesting who the two are from Keegan, Young and Burns IMO.

NBC had a great show about Keegan prior to beginning their East Lake coverage this afternoon

Good chunk of the program was about Keegan's favorable experience at St. John's as well as his bond with his teammates who became life long friends

Great publicity for the University

I would pick the following

Justin Thomas
Collin Morikawa
Keegan
Patrick Cantlay

And 2 of this group

Cameron Young (Local who is playing well has had success at Bethpage from his amateur days)
Sam Burns (Good partner for Scottie)
Ben Griffin (Technically next highest in rankings)

Please no Harman
So I think we're still here and I think Griffin is the odd man out.

I would leave off Morikawa this year and pick Ben griffin.
I don't think you can leave off Collin or Cantlay. They have proven too much in recent years.

I would pick

Justin
Collin
Patty
Burns
Young

and Keegan. He has to. He's one of the top 10 Americans in the game.

Maybe just maybe a certain someone who has Captain experience might offer to help out as an assistant.

I hear ya about colin. But this year he’s been mostly ehhh. Griffin has won 2 times and still playing well recently. And he’s got some attitude in him.

I'll admit I don't know a lot about Griffin. But Collin is 7th in the world. And ahead of Griffin in the Ryder Cup standings too. Griffin doesn't have a lot of documented match play experience either.

I hate we have to wait so many days

Definitely inexperienced in match play yes. But has made huge gains up the world rankings in short period this year. Birdie machine.

Not only playing as a top ten player but is absolutely a proven match player. I wish some big timers would speak up and urge him to do it publicly. I’m sure he feels a little weird about the whole situation.

One of griffins wins this year was the team event. So they do play that part like Ryder cup alternate shot and best ball. So he does have success at least in the format.
