Uchebo once was an NC State commit prior to heading to Chipola. We are involved, but a visit date hasn't been set.

6'11 Soph Joe Uchebo Chipola C(FL) will take his 1st official visit Tom. to the University of Pitt! St Johns and Oklahoma also still in hunt

Uchebo received a medical redshirt this past season at Chipola and will have 3yrs eligibility at the Division 1 level.

12 and 12 as a juco freshman is no joke. You see a lot of bigs put up garbage stats as freshman, especially at a school like Chipola.

Wait.... Rasheed took the last ship right? If so maybe someone else may be looking to leave.... Felix? Marco?

My thoughts exactly guru. I would redshirt Balamou or Jones, or I would let Marco go.

I suspect someone may be leaving.

Uchebo adds size, as well as being respected on the offensive end and garnering rebounds.

I think we can all read between the lines.... Us being involved with a 13 bigman..... My guess if I was a betting man.... Gift may be a goner

Anyone know if we have been recruiting this kid hard or do we have any connections to him of any sort ?

Sounds very intriguing

I'm not sure about connections of any sort or how hard we're recruiting him, but we are after him, nonetheless.

I'm also very intrigued about Uchebo. IMO, he'd probably compliment Sanchez and Obekpa quite well.

Very impressive. Brownlee averaged something like 12 and 5 as a sophomore at chipola. And we know how he turned out.

If Lavin can pull in JU we will be very well positioned and he will help offset the loss of Sanchez and Sampson for 14. We will be very deep a scary for next year. I hate to see any of our players leave, But I dont see Marco getting much burn next year, , also if we get him. not much use for Gift either. Would Like to see Felix and Jones stay . They are only FR and could be valuable as upperclassman. There is also the possibility of Harrison not returning and there would be the extra scholi, but I hope and think that is not the case.

We could really use GG next season. It will be his third with the team (5th overall) and he played huge minutes his first year. He'll be ready from Jump Street and he runs the court very well for a pf/c.

Balamou has to be maintained at all costs. His ceiling is simply too high to let him go anywhere.

Bourgault still has a lot of value for this team. Even with Hooper, this doesn't figure to be a good three-point shooting team. You can never have enough shooters, and Bourgault will likely come back much more improved with an offseason of knowing what he needs to work on.

I really don't want to see anyone go, but there is one kid that I think could be spared.

Reading between the lines it sounds like you think we could afford to let Jones transfer.
I'd have to disagree. If we were to sign Uchebo, I'd have no problem with Gift transferring.
Even if you like his game, with Sanchez and Obekpa here there's not going to be a lot of playing time available for Gift.
