Jordan Injury

I actually think this team’s real crash course will be Charleston. It’s one thing to have a game under your belt + week to prepare for Michigan with film and practices versus playing three games in four days against quality opponents. Our depth and chemistry will be tested big time.

Shooting will be fine once the team develops a comfortable rhythm.
Like Moose alluded to, I think the shooting collectively can get there.

Ledlum has to up his % and reduce his attempts. He’s going to get tons of open looks.

I can’t say enough about how much I love Dingle’s offensive game.

Alleyne will be crucial as the only big-minutes guy that can flirt with 40% from deep.

Luis has good-looking mechanics. Taylor will have to take some smart shots.

That’s not true. 21-22 team had:

Champagnie - 33.7% on 6.2 attempts

Wheeler - 38.5% on 3.2 attempts
Wusu - 38.1% on 3.0 attempts
Coburn 39.3% on 2.3 attempts
Pinzon - 37.5% on 1.2 attempts

Stef Smith shot 29.7% on 2.9 attempts but was a near 40% shooter at Vermont and shot 42.3% on 5.7 attempts his last full season there. Coburn was 40% for his career. Champagnie was 38% on 6.3 attempts the year prior.

This team doesn’t have that potential from outside.
Career stats shows

alleyne at 37% with a year at 40%
conway 37% with a year at 40%
luis 36% as a freshman
jenkins 36% his one year at iona
dingle 35% for his career

add dunlap to that equation

I think this team is closer stat wise to them with more potential?

I think way too much is being made from these exhibitions especially the pace game. I think once the games count things will be back to rosy on this site. We are too used to shitting the bed so I understand it.

Include Jenkins’ career stats before Iona 😂

Any way you slice it, it’s lower than that 2021-22 team that finished 199th in 3-pt %.

Next year and beyond deep shooting won’t be an issue, but we are going to need to need big minutes from Alleyne and Dingle and good shot selection from everyone else.

If you think Dingle could match Champ. Then I see no reason why Alleyne, Jenkins, Ledlum, Luis, and Taylor can’t match that second group via combination of attempts and %. It’s really not that hard to imagine IMO.

If we can count Pinzon’s 1.2 attempts then might as well consider Dunlap or Conway too.

Jenkins isn’t the player he was at pacific. Disregard those stats is not out of line.

Agree completely mase.

I just realized the thread here is dingle injury. My apologies for continuing about the 3 point shooting of the team. Hope dingle is well and shines this year.

The problem is that wasn’t a good shooting team. That team was ranked 199th in the country in 3 pt %.

Outside shooting won’t be a strength of this team.

Not being a strength and having it be a liability are two different things. It won’t be a liability, we’ll hit our fair share.
I don’t disagree with you or Mase at all here.

There is a path where this team can be solid from deep, but there are a ton of things that have to go right.

I’m the biggest Dingle and Alleyne fan on here. So they will need most of our outside shots. Ledlum has to be selective and patient…same with Taylor. Daniss is a big question mark to me from deep. Luis I trust, but the defense might not be there for a while.

We’ll need some guys to overachieve like that 21-22 team work Wusu and Wheeler. Maybe that is Ledlum…his mechanics look good to me. If he somehow ups his % from 29% to 38% like Wheeler then we are in business.

Dunlap or Conway stepping up obviously would help a lot.

Seems to be some genuine concern about Dingle
Was guy I was looking forward to the most.
Going to focus on him tonight
