Jordan gone.....

Saying he was going to be the best player on the upcoming years team is pretty bold considering you don't know what they are going to look like nor the philosophy the team will implement. It's just not the disaster you are making it out to be since nobody knows how this years team will run.

It's not that bold. You look at his skills, and then compare them with the skills of everyone else on the team. People do it all the time with their pre-season All-American picks. Is there always a chance that someone else could emerge, or that the player plays down to the expectations? Absolutely. But that doesn't change the fact that had he stayed, he was going to be the best player on our team.

As usual everybody is now saying they are glad that he is gone. The same people who said it was soooo important that RJ and CO return.

The fact is that either the new admin is having a firm stance with players or that the last admin was a gong show

clean slate looks good to me moanash let way too much crap go on :S

It appears as it's going to be a 'my way or the high way' approach for Mullin. My concern is whether or not that approach will work in today's college basketball environment. I understand that you need kids that are willing to buy into the system, but as a coach, you also need to be flexible with your methods. For example, just because Mullin was willing to be in the gym at 4:30am every day, is it really that reasonable to expect all of his players to do the same? In today's world of recruiting, the kids hold all the power....the school needs them more than they need an individual school. At some point, there needs to be a balance between the 'my way or the highway approach' and the 'let the kids do whatever they want' approach.

Well it looks like it's going to be a long year next year. I'm predicting 8-10 wins at most. Thankfully the future looks much brighter after next year!
