It appears as it's going to be a 'my way or the high way' approach for Mullin. My concern is whether or not that approach will work in today's college basketball environment. I understand that you need kids that are willing to buy into the system, but as a coach, you also need to be flexible with your methods. For example, just because Mullin was willing to be in the gym at 4:30am every day, is it really that reasonable to expect all of his players to do the same? In today's world of recruiting, the kids hold all the power....the school needs them more than they need an individual school. At some point, there needs to be a balance between the 'my way or the highway approach' and the 'let the kids do whatever they want' approach.
