John Severe Suspended

At this point beggars can't be choosers. We need to fill out 10 spots next year. Chances are we will be blocked by Fordham.
 
Severe is not a poor shooter. He shot over 34% on 7.5 attempts per game. Most guys improve several % points during their college careers. Shave the worst 2-3 attempts per game and he could easily be a 40%+ shooter and a dangerous weapon for any team in the country.

Those ready to write him off already, just remember D'Angelo Harrison and where he was at as a soph. He was by far the most talented kid on the team and showed plenty of attitude issues. Severe was too goo for Fordham to start and that has led to an inflated sense of his own value.

If he does transfer, whoever gets him will have a ton of leverage....not only will he (likely) be playing with much better players in a much better league, no player wants to transfer twice.

Scorer, volume shooter & selfish, who is better suited for Hofstra, Iona level of play. Btw, what transfers have chosen us lately? We are not exactly a destination of choice. Start winning & that could change. Having personally seen him a number of times, he is not worth it Imo.

I see 2 additional issues:
1. His feeling slighted that we didn't go after him out of CTK. I know we didn't have a scholie at that moment
2. His High School coach

well its too late for his high school coach to turn him in for sat violations
 
This thread is waste of bandwidth. Severe is a head case as was his high school coach. This staff better be scouring the JUCO ranks for shooters and hope for a 5th year transfer. The sad thing is Tony Chiles is the only one recruiting on this team. The other coaches would rather spend time with their Hollywood women.

I spoke to Lav about this. He said if he had known having a hot wife was going to piss Redman.comers off so much he would have married a fat chick.
 
Since we play Fordham every year, I would think they would block us anyway. Paschall, for goodness sake, has not indicated he will leave. No need for knee jerk, over the top reactions at this point. I'm just getting over "Antoine Mason" perseveration.
 
0 chance this happens. If he decides to leave FU they will not allow him to sign with SJU, Manhattan, etc. Why would we want to sign him regardless? He certainly cannot go off like D-Lo and is a proven baby/problem child. His entire entourage of AAU' coaches, "mentors", assistants, dad, etc. have been showing TP up and showing up at practice and getting overly involved. We don't want or need that. He has proven nothing.

No googling and or hypocrisy involved. There is a line that should not be crossed and when it is crossed it does damage to both discourse and decency.
 
@NYPost_Brazille: I'm told Jon Severe is meeting with Tom Pecora weekly and still plans to return to the program at Fordham.
