John Severe Suspended

Eric Paschall is a much better player at SG in my opinion. One would wonder if he sticks around when Tom P is axed. This program is a mess & it would not shock me to see EP walk. I guess who the new coach would be will determine that. As for Severe, I don't want him, too selfish.

Pecora is going to be gone. From people I know he says he was sold a bill of goods by the AD and they haven't come through. He hasn't really done anything to distinguish himself either.

Pecora was hired by Frank Mclaughlin, former AD. New AD is no nonsense, bottom line guy. Adios Pecora.

Exactly.

You mean Severe? I read HE left the team for personal reasons. I say we jump on him right away. He'd be eligible the second semester next season.

yes. Right now with our roster, I'd take a vagrant with a jump shot. :)

I would express interest also especially since we don't have a boat load of recruits coming. He would be eligible at the end off the fall semester next year and would have 1 1/2 years of eligibility left. Once he was suspended and figured he was going to transfer, he probably should have taken the leave then. By playing this year he burned a year of eligibility.

However as I expressed earlier and someonelse also lamented, I doubt thenrelease tey give him will allow him to transfer to St. John's, Iona or Manhattan, just like they restricted Jio Fontan a few years ago.

Given his attitude and behavior, doesn't look as if Fordham will be bending over backwards to accommodate his wish list.

I would take both Severe (now) and Paschall (end of year) in a heartbeat. Both are too good for Fordham and that can lead to inflated egos.

Pecora will be "bending over" soon enough.

True, but he'll be bending over frontwards.

Watched their game today...Why Paschal and his family/handlers opted for Fordham is beyond belief...kid is talented...wasting his time at Fordham

The point I guess I didn't make well enough. :)

Severe is not a poor shooter. He shot over 34% on 7.5 attempts per game. Most guys improve several % points during their college careers. Shave the worst 2-3 attempts per game and he could easily be a 40%+ shooter and a dangerous weapon for any team in the country.

Those ready to write him off already, just remember D'Angelo Harrison and where he was at as a soph. He was by far the most talented kid on the team and showed plenty of attitude issues. Severe was too goo for Fordham to start and that has led to an inflated sense of his own value.

If he does transfer, whoever gets him will have a ton of leverage....not only will he (likely) be playing with much better players in a much better league, no player wants to transfer twice.

Scorer, volume shooter & selfish, who is better suited for Hofstra, Iona level of play. Btw, what transfers have chosen us lately? We are not exactly a destination of choice. Start winning & that could change. Having personally seen him a number of times, he is not worth it Imo.

How much of that is his situation? He had to shoot at volume for Fordham last year. The same adjectives were thrown around about Harrison as well. I'm not saying he is Harrison, but worth the chance IMO. If he is in fact selfish and is damaging the team, you cut ties.

As for EP...even better.
