I watched him against Siena last season. I realize one game is not conclusive but
what I witnessed, if typical, is not someone I would want on our squad. His attitude and court demeanor was early Harrison; his need to control the ball all the time was early Phil G; and his shooting was early Pointer. I was looking forward to seeing him play, but remarked to friends at the end I was pleased he wasn't in SJU or Siena colors because his "all about me" attitude would make me crazy.
Again, it was one person's view at one game and I'm sure the coaches could check out whether it was representative of not.

FWIW:
@SammyAlbano: Suspended @FordhamBball by #jesuitgigilo #JohnSevere handlers making inquiries about interest by other schools as transfer destination.

I can't even believe kids at fordham have handlers. I'm going to have Paultz and OLV and Ralph as my handlers for section 114

I can't argue with your first two points, but he is a sharpshooter. To be north of 30% with the sheer # of attempts he had is pretty remarkable. Anyone can pick and choose 2-3 shots a game with their feet set and shoot a good %, but when you are averaging NINE attempts a game and shooting 34%...you can shoot. That means you are getting off a few every game with two men in your face and a few more off the bounce. Dom Pointer was never half the shooter Severe is.

So it's better that he's a no conscience chucker with a low percentage? He had 21 more shots, or one per game more, than Sean Armand and shot 10 percentage points lower? Piss poor shot selection I guess. Obviously the Pointer comparison is ridiculous but so is the sharpshooter nonsense. There were plenty of guys who took over 200 3's and shot over 40%. They are sharpshooters.
Yeah, that's ridiculous. "Any 34% shooter with the balls to take that many shots is not someone I would seek out. Either he's a crap teammate or a crap shooter and I don't think STJ needs either of those things. He took 7.5 per game, Armand took 6.6 per game. He made 34%, Armand 44%. There's something Severely wrong with that picture.
