If he was reading a newspaper or had a candle lit, then I would agree.
Timing is a big factor, but it still amazes me how well Norm's assistant coaches ended up (Braica hc at St. Francis, Casey hc at Niagara) while Lavin's become assistants at much smaller programs.
Dunlop went to the NBA.
Mullen has Dunlap tires on his car.
Beast, did you actually write "Mullen"?
I'm not sure that anyone here can spell Abdelmassih or Rohrssen without checking, but Dunlap is within reach, no? Mullin loading up on Brooklyn guys. Can Pinknee be next?

I'm still trying to figure out why Spaldeen was spelled with an I-N-G at the end.
Why did they have a chalky white coating, and why did they split much easier than a Pensy pinky? Were spaldeens the preferred stickball rubber ball over Pensy Pinky's? I think they travelled further maybe? Stickball against a wall with a chalked up strike zone is a bygone era game, no? How great was it to solve all ball strike arguments by showing the batter the ball with a chalk mark.

In my old neighborhood in the Bronx, it was Spaldeens only. And yes, they did have a strange textured coating (easier to grip) ... but they bounced higher, traveled farther, and were slightly -- but nevertheless discernibly -- slightly bigger than Pensie Pinkies (or however they were spelled). It got to the point where our local stores stopped carrying the Pinkiess, which were dismissively considered (pardon the oxymoron) girly balls. However, I picked up a "new" Spaldeen a couple of years ago, and it just wasn't the same.
Where in the Bronx?
