Jim Boeheim a class act. NOT!!

I never thought Boeheim was a good coach. He gets a lot of credit now because he finally won and he's been around a long time. If you look back at the history there are a lot of games where his team was not prepared to win in big games.

Guy has been bad enough to win 934 games.

All those wins and never would've won a national championship if it weren't for one of the best scorers in NBA history to carry him to it.

A great recruiter - he could always bring in great talent. Never won big without Carmello and Derek Coleman.

he did a damn good job with the John Wallace team. That team had nothing but Wallace. I thought he was an awful coach years ago, but he has been pretty solid over the last 15 years, actually.

In defense of Boeheim, in the aftermath of losses, he generally is very gracious. I'm not going to judge him adversely for some brief comments on the game. I'm sure that among many post game interviews the standard "Give them credit line.." is visible somewhere.

For someone who is a bad coach he certainly has the best zone defense in college basketball. Plus he recruits talent to fit his needs for the zone. It can't be scenic Syracuse that attracts all the excellent recruits he gets each year.
This year he didn't have great shooters and lacked a bench. Still made the NCAA Tournament.

Agreed. The one positive that can't be taken away from him is that he gets his teams to adapt to his system (2-3 zone on defense), and play hard. The more that you watch successful teams, the more you realize how important this point is. Players need structure. On both sides of the ball.

You dont win over 900 games by not being a great coach! All you Boeheim bashers are dreaming if you think he is not one of the very best in the business?

Our fans would kill him because of all his top 100 busts.

Hes a great coach. Only coach K has been as consistent over the last 30 years. Look at SU s record over the last 20 years than look at ours.

Calhoun was twice the coach as both of them.

What Calhoun did with that Kemba team was unreal. He is so much better than Boeheim it's not even funny. There is something extra creepy about JB.

Why do you think he was twice the coach?

i would have to agree with TIS regarding Calhoun here.
Calhoun is on the Mount Rushmore of college bb coaches.
Boeheim is still a legend and I would love if he were our coach.

I had the misfortune of living in Ct. for his entire tenure.
With what he had, the best BB coach I've ever seen.
Look at his talent compared to boeheim's and shusheski's.
And national championships head to head with dook.

it is a reference to Mount Rushmore (the mountain with the presidents faces). if there were one for college bball coaches i would put calhoun on there. as unlikable as he is, he can flat out coach.
