JaKarr Sampson

Saw Whitesell run drills with the players at CA many times and came away with a solid impression of him.

I wonder if we'd be further along if Mullin decided to retain Whitesell and/or Chiles. No Slice, and maybe St. Jean starts as a DOBO who also shadowed Whitesell.
We’d be further along with any of those guys... Slice gave us absolutely zero and we never hired anybody to replace him. Bring whitesell, Dunlap, Chiles etc... all would be helping a ton right now. It’s become more and more evident though that we need another dynamo recruiter on the road who also knows some b-ball.

Brewster Academy graduate JaKarr Sampson ‘12 had 29 points & 7 rebounds for @windycitybulls in @nbagleague action on Wednesday

just got posterized according to our very own redmen photographer

Funny, always liked Doughty. And remember wishing Mullin hadn’t passed on him. Oh well.

Was a key bench player his freshman year, was a key double figure scorer his sophomore year and started well as a junior before an ankle injury which he didn’t fully recover from the rest of the season missing several games (even a few when after he came back) and limiting his effectiveness on the court.

Just looked at the box score from last night, Rawle Atkins is on that team also.

The Bulls are in full tank mode so it makes sense to take a shot on these kids. Sampson went undrafted and signed as a free agent, so he ended up in an ideal situation. Might be best for the same thing to happen to Ponds so he can choose a team that fits.

And, it probably went the reverse for Sir'Dom. He was selected by Cleveland near the end of the draft. Never had a chance, with Lebron there. Best he could do was compete for a backup spot.

Looks like Jakar and Arciadiacono spent a fair amount of time playing together against Knicks last night and both had good games. Doesn't mean much this time of year admittedly.

Wasn't he also on the Sixers when they were in full tank mode? Apparently when you want to tank, your bring in a St. John's player.
