If Sampson can turn into a Lottery Pick after next season that would go a long way towards recruiting and building the program.

The only lottery Sampson will see is Megamillions. That ship has sailed. In the 2015 draft he can hope to be an early 2nd round pick...PERHAPS squeak into the the very late first round.

I'm too lazy and busy to check. He has 2 years of eligibility remaining, correct? What is the minimum salary range from 20 till the end of the first round?

Stranger things have happen than Jarr declaring. I am sure there is a club that likes his size. quickness and his 15ft jump shot and his upside that would give perhaps 1 million Not saying he should ,he should stay butwho knows? Has to listen to the staff

When the Redmen go on a run to the Final Four this year it could propel Jakarr into the first round.

If that were to happen, I'd take Jordan, Harrison, and Sampson all going pro as a consequence.

Nice thought. but that would be like hitting the lottery I think on a given day they could beat anyone but their season shows that
they can not string wins against top 20 teams
Just hope the beat Prov and make the Tornament

What did you think of UCONN's choices 3 years ago before the Big East tournament when they finished 9-9 in conference and were smoked by St. John's in the regular season. Logic doesn't always dictate, and someone has to win the whole thing.

Just a question asked and answered. Your scenario most likely at this point.

When the Redmen go on a run to the Final Four this year it could propel Jakarr into the first round.

There is nothing Jakarr can do in this tournament to propel himself into the first round. He's weak, he has no dribble or decision-making ability, he can't shoot from deep, he can't defend the perimeter. He will not be physically able to play in the NBA for two years.

I love the kid, but the NBA is a different world. He doen't have 1/10th of Moe's skill and look at Moe now. Look at this year's draft! No way!!!!

Wow, those are pretty emphatic statements.

Early in the year, you chastised me, saying that Sampson had much more athletic ability than Harkless. I watched carefully, and I agreed with what you wrote. I also agree in your harsh assessment of his skills, BUT.. he can be a monster unleashed down low. He can drain shots again and again from 15 and in. He gets off the ground in a way your can't teach, and is an incredibly quick jumper. NBA teams draft on potential once you get past the highly rated guys who should be able to help immediately. If Sampson ran through the NCAA tourney (please, please) averaging 22-24 points per game, and we go to say elite 8, it would open eyes and he could get drafted late first round. Very implausible, but not impossible.
