A blowout loss in BET puts us in jeopardy? Don't want to be Debbie Downer and I personally think we are a lock, but would two blowouts(which I doubt happens) going into tourney put us in a bad spot?

We could play 5 guys from this board, play the little sisters of the poor, lose by 100.. .and we're still in. Enjoy Sunday!!!

stop forgetting that we are REALLY GOOD team when all our main guys play...we will not get blown out and we are a lock...SJU fans need to start "playing to win" instead of "playing not to lose"

Sorry, my eligibility ended a few decades back.

We are 100% a lock. If we lose by 100 we'd still have an rpi around 38/39 with 5 top 50 wins.

Just my opinion, but I think a loss to Marquette and two blowout losses after that would have put us in deep shit. But we won, so all is good. Playing for seeding now.

I don't think anything is 100 percent when it comes to the committee, but we're sitting around 98-99. Not sweating at all, and will throw something through the TV screen if we get snubbed. Hopefully my 4-year-old is farther than arm's length.

The real question is are we at risk for playing in a play in game. I don't think we are no matter the outcome. We'll be a 10 or 11 seed at worst.

Haha I don't know this would be a pretty insane snub. SMU was the biggest snub last year and frankly they didn't deserve to be in the tournament anyways. Comparing the two resumes there's no contest.

Not 100% but IMO 99.99%.

Yeah, I'm thinking 11 if we lose. And we'd be a scary 11. I think 6 might be out of reach, but 7 is possible with a good showing in the BET.

9 at worst. 6 (with a possible chance at a 5, if we were to win the Big East tournament) at best.

Would def need at least one win maybe two if we would have lost that game. Nova loss is understandable but 40 point loss still makes me feel 1% uncomfortable.

5 is not out of reach if we win the tournament or even make the championship game. Tall task, but possible.

We're not gonna be a 10 or 11 seed. I'm quite confident in saying it.

Bracket matrix (average of all the brackets) has us at a 7.57 seed and 19 (yes 19) spots from the last team in. A loss to Providence won't change much.

If we lose to Providence I hope we drop to a 10 or 11 seed. Unfortunately I think they'll put us 8 or 9.

We lost 2 games to Nova by combined 65 points and we play them in 3nd round so not super confident about that.
Hard to beat the same team 3 times in a season which is why I am just a little nervous about what happens if we lose to Prov.

By the way, I hate this thread and curse you with the heat of 1,000 suns for starting a thread about any possibility of being left out of the NCAAs on the week of the BE tourney and selection Sunday.

We've never played them full strength. We played them at their place for their seniors last home game ever and we played them smack middle of the Jordan saga. We played them even for 2/3's of a game the first time and for a half the second. Win or lose, the third game would be within ten if both teams advance.

That blowout loss is a bit deceiving. We sat two VERY important players in Branch and Obekpa just so they'd be healthy for the post-season. We on,y run 7-8 deep to begin with and we were drilling Nova in the first half. We tired out in the second and were without the nations best shot blocker for the entire game as well as an extra starting caliber Pg which hurt us down the stretch. It lead to us seeing guys like Christian Jones more than we have seen him all year against the number 4 team in the country, and Lavin put the end of his bench in long before Jay Wright did. I don't think that game is indicative of how we could or would play Nova at full strength with our bids on the line.

No discredit to nova who is excellent and deep. They deserve a number one seed. I still don't think we put everything on the floor that day.
