Just curios if anyone has heard anything official from the school or Mullin? Some are quick to forget the nonsense some of these "writers" aka bloggers aka tweeters have posted recently. Just look at their accuracy in the recent Lavin reporting. . .

To quote another writer, Jon Rothstein just said on FAN this morning that Mullin was expected to fly back east today and a formal press conference will be held tomorrow or Wednesday. He thought most likely Wednesday. FWIW.

There is no way Mullin is going to embarrass SJU and let them publicly offer if he is not accepting. Just my opinion.
 
I am sure, that when it is announced officially, it will be broadcast by multiple sources like a tidal wave.
 
I posted this last week: Pre extension/parting ways drama I was told that Chris Mullin is interested in the job. I never believed it but I guess there might be some truth to that.

I didn't buy into it since i did not see Lavin losing his job but now it's clear that the info i was told is obvious and on point. Mullin was approached about this job a while back and from my understanding Lavin was on his way no matter what. Offering him a low $$ extension was just a nice way to say goodbye we don't need you anymore.
I was told announcement will be this week if all terms are agreed on both sides.

True, unless they announce the hiring of Pitino, Donovan, Few, etc.

I don't think there would be much embarrassment then!

But we all know that isn't happening...which means welcome home Mr. Mullin.

Thanks. I don't know I just think it's odd that we are relying on the same guys who recently have proven to be highly inaccurate with their reports. I wonder if they rake stuff from teams' fan boards and put it into a story. There has been 0 official comment from any side, and it just makes me a bit skeptical. Especially with most on here already celebrating, some would be gravely disappointed.
 
if this does fall through we will get the "APRIL FOOL'S" headline in the papers and the incompetency of SJU will reach heights we havent seen yet.

it would look very very bad....a PR nightmare and i would expect heads at SJU to roll if this is the case.

After the fiasco last week where the local media made themselves look like amateurs of the highest order reporting the extension of ex-SJU Coach Lavin, I am not going to be anxiety free until there is an official announcement from SJU. With SJU's track record we really cant trust them until its completely done.
 
@FisolaNYDN: Chris Mullin is apparently arriving in New York tomorrow. All these years later the kid from Brooklyn is finally coming home. Just awesome.

On twitter, Roger Rubin is reporting as of 3 minutes ago, that Chris Mullin has accepted, and will be the 20th coach in St. John's history.
