Clips of our four incoming freshmen. Personally I love this class and think all have the potential to be big contributors during their time here. A guard, a wing, a forward, and a big. If all 4 comeback as sophomores I think we’re in great shape.

I think that people are sleeping on Maker. I don’t see Prey playing much at the center position and I see the three bigs being a three headed monster at center with 15 fouls to give. Although he probably needs to develop on the offensive side, he is probably relatively stable defensively.

Also, Zuby plays very aggressively and I foresee many games where within the first five minutes he has 5 points, 5 rebounds and 5 fouls! They are going to need to have a center by committee.

Your poll was excellent. Damn i'm glad I'm back here.
Posted a poll on twitter today, {still early, 100 votes], .
This is our year.10 deep, like he wanted, and that's excluding Brady.

It’s a given that we expect maker & Ayo to be # 12 & 13
And i expect Richmond, smith & Luis(if healthy) to start & play most minutes

But we’re wildly guessing at this point as to order & minutes of other 8.
I do think Dunlap will be blocked by Luis & Scott this year, so he might be #11.
And glover & Lefty might wait a year for rotation minutes till Richmond & smith graduate.

Looking forward to reports from practice. Boy are we deep.

Let’s say they start Smith, Richmond, Scott, Luis and Zuby. First big man off the bench is Prey. First guard is Wilcher. First wing is Dunlap.

If he’s not in that 8-9 man core rotation, I would be shocked.
Dunlap before the 2 freshmen? One of us will be more shocked.

Completely agree with Vince and Glover in that first 10. I’d expect Lefty, Maker and Ayo being 11-13.
Totally agree with that top 10. I think that top 10 is also quite interchangeable with a lot of talent there at the 2-4 spots, with Lefteris maybe even edging in there depending on how good he really is. We are stacked. Haven’t been this excited for a season in quite a while.

Pitino doesn’t play freshmen much historically. Sim was top 30 and looked lost most of the season.

There is also the NIL/free transfer era consideration. If you let a frosh run wild, you’ve just priced yourself out of his market for his soph campaign.

Sim was a victim of Jenkins. How many freshmen has Pitino brought in with the ability to contribute right away on a team missing some key pieces. Unless he wants to play only 7, the freshmen have to play, excluding Maker. Nice problem to have,

He played plenty of freshman during his time at Louisville.

Juan Palacios 27mpg

Terrence Williams 25mpg

Andre McGee 20mpg

Edgar Sosa 25mpg

Jerry Smith 20mpg

Samardo Samuels 25mpg

Chane Behanan 26mpg

That’s not including guys who played 17-19 mpg which would make them key rotational players or even starters. If they’re ready he’ll play them simple as that.

Someone send Dan V an Ambien because that’s way too much info at 3am :)

The list of top 20-60 ranked players that didn't play right away is even longer. We are also in a new era with the NIL and unlimited transfers.
Wouldn't you agree that if Pitino was able to pick up a Deivon Smith and Kadary Richmond, Sosa and Jerry Smith would have likely been in the 8-12 mpg range? No way Pitino rolls the dice on two freshmen when he could have the pick of the litter nationally with upperclassmen.

Earl Clark, a first round pick after his junior year and the #24 recruit in his class, only played 16 mpg as a frosh. Peyton Siva played 11. Kuric played 5. #26 recruit in his class, Wayne Blackshear, played 6. Second round pick, Russ Smith, played 5.

Glover's path is largely blocked with this year, but it really opens up when Smith, Richmond, Scott, and possibly Luis depart after the season.

Prey and Maker might have the better chance at more minutes than glover and lefty due to who is also playing their positions. I also envision us playing small often enough with 4 guard/wings so Glover and Lefty may find their way onto the court more than some expect in those situations too.

Again, people who have seen Glover's game personally rave about him so if he deserves to be out there, freshman or not, I am sure he will be a significant enough contributor this year. I envision many guys on the team in the 15-25 minute range and interchangeable. So excited to see how this team is on the court.
