Ian Steere
I doubt Ian can contribute anything this late in the season. He always has that confused, deer in the headlights look on the court. He can't learn Mike's system overnight.

Ian will have to work hard in the off season and start fresh next year. Make a good impression in the OOC games.
Hopefully he paid attention in practice. Maybe he knows the system, but hasn't put in the effort and lacked the "TEAM" attitude.

I still don't think that it's a certainty he'll be back next year.

Just curious, if he'e not planning to retun next season why come back for three or four games?

I'm very surprised Mike is giving Ian another chance. I'm assuming that includes letting Ian prove himself in the off season. It'll take a lot of hard work for him to make next year's team.

There's always the possibility that Ian will transfer.

It's like 2 years of inactivity for him. Transfer, sit another year?

From what I can gather, CMA IS THE BOSS. period. Steere was smart to go to class, weigh his limited options, and then decide to either be on board or not.

CMA didn't change or waiver, and to his credit, he gave Steere a good chance to think about not being on the team. Good for both of them. Clear message sent to Steere and anyone who plays for CMA.

On another note, in the past, only freshman (male basketball players) were required to live on campus. CMA is changing that for year 2, so that going forward freshman AND sophomores are required to live on campus. Tighter reign, less opportunity to not be focused.on school and basketball. Less opportunity to get into trouble. Good call.

Unless the new rule change passes and he can transfer without having to wait.

Would someone who already transferred still be eligible for this?

With Roberts maybe not playing, he might see the opportunity for playing time, even if it's just a few minutes per game.

Even if he was planning on transfering it would show schools he made the effort to return and is more committed to succeeding than if he just walked away/didn't bother returning.

My thought exactly. Definitely enhances the perception of him

I predict he won't play much. For my part, I'd prefer him over Sears although by all accounts Sears is a good teammate who has worked hard.

I hope Roberts can get healthy for next week. If we are to pull of a bit of magic in the BE tournament next week, I think he will need to contribute. Notwithstanding free throws, he played very well in the first game against the Hall

IMO a school looking at him as a prospective transfer is probably going to put more weight into the fact that he got suspended.

Yeah, but according to Zach the decision to let him come back was made before Josh's injury, it was just announced after the game. Now if you're a beiiever in the grassy knoll theory....................:) ;)

Obviously, but not getting reinstated vs. getting reinstated is at least something positive.

I can think of one reason for him to come back, just have no idea if it's why he is...
Perhaps he hasn't had much interest from schools he's interested in transferring to? This could just be a chance to show he's not a problem child (2 transfers in two years with little PT at either) and that his suspension wasn't cause he quit on the team.

My guess would be to get some current film out there since he hasn't played much the last few years for interested schools if he really is looking to transfer.

Matt and Fred don't care. They've succeeded with much tougher reclamation projects.

Yup that’s what I heard on all counts except the living situation. Those guys were living in some rough conditions from what I hear. Some guys not ready to go live by themselves before they turned 21. And from what I hear it’s kind of expensive to live in NYC haha.

His free throw shooting has improved quite a bit since he changed his form at the line
