I Love Justin Simon
This is why I do not post much on the site. Because people read thing the way they want to see it.

Stating that if Simon decides to leave and play at another University next would reflex poorly on the Staff.

Does not mean he has a poor relationship with the staff

Does mean that the Staff for the 2nd year would be losing a player who played key minutes and was expected to be a key player next year.

Going to the NBA is a totally different story. Leaving to play for another University because a player feels it is a better situation for them reflex's poorly on the Staff to retain key players.
I know this board isn't about grammar, but c'mon Red2395, 'reflex'? Really?
I really hope this isn't a reflexshion of the type of education St. John's is providing.

A SJU degree is just another piece of paper for all in tents and purses.

It's Thanksgiving. People need to sit back in the recliner and reflex and watch some tv

Reflexshion?

I think you mean reflection. I’m scared to ask you about your education attainment.

BTW, I know it's 'reflection'. I was a spelling bee champion many years running.

I guess irony is not something we're able to grasp either. LOL

Thank you for the correction.

My St John's Education and hard work got me a house in Ft Lauderdale on the Intracoastal.

Maybe you can ride by on the Water Taxi and wave to me one day.

Happy Thanksgiving.

But I'll definitely wave to you in your house on the intracoastal next time I fly over your house when I fly to South America ( too bad I could have waved this past weekend ) trying to avoid hard work that unfortunately my St Johns Education caused

Happy Thanksgiving

It adds to his resume’, and the less and less other programs can outsell us when it comes to that stuff. I’m happy wenhave Mack replacing ponds if and when he leaves, and we have other potential stars like Figueroa etc. I don’t think we will be devoid of backcourt talent in the least. I’m also not sure Simon is ready to go unless he develops that shooting game a bit.
There shouldn’t be any worry in Simon leaving to go pro. 5th year transfer If he wants to shine would be the issue. But If you ask me with all 3 of ponds Heron and Clark most likely gone, right here would be the best spot for him.
Simon shouldn't be a candidate to go pro but could leave as a graduate transfer if he so desired
I think he will leave for a program where he is guaranteed "not to play forward or center". A school needing a big point guard will be a perfect place.
He’s just not a point guard. Love him as a player but being a good passer doesn’t make you a pg, it should be a prerequisite for any player.
Well said. I don't even think his non-shooting skills are good enough to be a 2 either. Assessed as a SF, I think he is underskilled for that position, but at least it's a reasonable discussion. The kid just isn't a guard.

He should model bis game after PJ Tucker and Draymond Green. PJ Tucker plays center for clips at 6'5! The league is getting softer by the day...6'5 240 lb bruisers with a good wingspan and desire to do the dirty work will enjoy careers that last a decade.

I will be very disappointed if Simon leaves us next year. He is playing 30 minutes a game this year and next year it will be his team.
If he leaves it must reflex poorly on the coaching staff that they are not building a relationship with the players.
I would also be disappointed if Simon left as a graduate transfer
But the current trend is that there has been a record number of transfers every season
The grass always seems greener elsewhere to these kids
But they often find out that such is not always the case
Anyone who promises him he can play guard will be lying to him. Anyone that tells him his path to the NBA centers around playing guard is an idiot.

He's a 4/3 that can switch and defend 5 positions. His athletic ability and wingspan are NBA caliber. He needs 20 lbs of muscle and, a big man camp, and time to develop his shot to 35% on three open attempts per game.
5-0 and we are debating if a player transfers next year. Doesn't matter if it's a possibility anything is a possibility but 5 games into the season ?
Sorry, let me know when it's okay. ;)

Education attainment? If you are going to crap on someone's spelling or grammar that's a pretty awkward way to articulate it.

OK fellow knuckleheads enough!!!!
We all love Justin. One guy wrote "I love Justin Simon". Then folks began with the "BUT" conditions regarding his game.
But he can't shoot. But he can't be a point guard. But he is positionless. Yada, yada, yada.
If Mullin miraculously signs Precious and that other illusive big and Cameron Mack is the point guard of the future and Figueroa plays small forward and Eli Wright is game ready and Mustapha Heron decides to return THEN I don't see Justin returning for all the reasons some of you stated above regarding his guard skills and shooting. It could mean his minutes would decrease and his role diminished even more than this season with a short bench. He is not returning just for the great food served in Montgoris. Calipari pushes his sophomores out to make room for new and better talent. I would do the same with a 5th year positionless player if it meant getting a couple of 5 star bigs. Let's all agree that it is a strong possibility if our recruiting were actually good instead of based on transfer luck.

That last sentence is ridiculous. Nowhere has it been hinted that Justin has a bad relationship with the staff. People are trying to make Justin into a point guard, center, power forward, whatever. Justin is the epitome of the positionless player. He's the jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none poster boy. This is not a knock on him, just a statement of fact.

I love his game, Fran calls him a stat sheet stuffer, I've called him the Swiss Army knife of the team; he's a glue guy.
