How important is securing Diallo for Mullin

How important can it be to recruit an anticipated one and done player? No doubt he appears to be an impact player, but in our minds his value is x4 or x3. At most he is an x2 type of player, and likelihood is that almost immediately you have to start recruiting to replace him.
 
On one hand I would love to get a kid of Diallo's talent, on the other hand it always concerns me that a kid who is anointing himself one and done may not exactly buy in to the "team" concept. I would certainly take him in a heartbeat, but not going to loose sleep if he winds in Cal's stable.
 
It would be huge to get him, but signing Williams and Lee would still work nice up front with Obekpa. Lee might be tough if Maryland wants him, but Williams seems plausible and would allow the staff to not paint themselves into a Diallo corner like Lavin seemed to be doing.

Won't be as dominant on the boards, but Williams could give us some scoring punch up front.

I selfishly want all three and think they would work well together. Lee is the biggest difference maker of the trio next season...could really change the expectation completely. Diallo would be the biggest statement.
 
And with Alexander gone at Kansas, even more need for them to get Diallo. And who knows if Lavin sold him on SJU and the Garden. Inquiring minds would like to know.

For a kid who anticipates being one and done, I would assume that Lavin's primary sales pitch was immediate and abundant PT, and his history of getting kids to the NBA..

Sampson did have to cancel visit for legitimate reason, so let's see what happens. A lot of things will play out during next few weeks. Keep the faith!
