Homeland And All Things Maher

I happened on an old favorite, that might be the greatest TV series of all time:
NYPD Blue. Still has chops. The acting is great, the stories are engaging. Dennis Franz carried the show through 12 seasons.

I remember being in my dorm gathered around a TV to watch the first episode because it was "going to push the boundaries of network TV" which meant boobies to us.

Alas, we were disappointed.

Any suggestions on which of Ian Fleming's Bond books I should read first?

Wanted to tackle him for some time and I've been on a John le Carre kick recently so here I am.

I always like to start those type of books, with a continuing character, from the first book. I think Casino Royale was the first. You can read the book and check out the films to see how they differ.
If you are looking for a good spy series to read, try Daniel Silva's series with the hero Gabriel Allon. Got me hooked and I am working my way through the whole series--25+ books. Gabriel Allon is the main protagonist in Daniel Silva's thriller and espionage series that focuses on Israeli intelligence. Allon is a spy and an art restorer, and I got an education about some great artwork.
