Heard school should issue something today. Common thing I also hear from
multiple folks is he has grade two sprain necessitating being out a couple of weeks. Obviously rumor, so hopefully we get something definitive quite soon.

I hope that is true, but judging from his pain last night seemed like it was more serious. It is nice to be young and able to heal quickly...

2 weeks would be almost ideal. We should beat Albany even without him, and I don't think we were beating Arizona with him. Hopefully, it's little harm, no foul.

It’s important to note that sprains, even minor ones, hurt like hell when they first happen. That one was pretty bad and probably hurt really bad.

If it’s a bad sprain. I personally think it’ll be closer to 4-6 weeks then just 2. But I’m just glad there is no ligament damage or Achilles’ tendon damage

Rehab, rest until Butler (hopefully) seems prudent.

Honestly shocked but in a good way! Thank god no tears or anything major. A sprain is still not good obviously, but it's not a season-ender. I'm highly skeptical of the 2 weeks though...my guess is more like 4-6. Not a doctor or anything FWIW but after the Lovett saga, hard to believe any time frames especially because the team has an interest in making it seem shorter. If he really only misses Albany and Arizona, that would really be dodging a bullet. I suspect longer though. Hope I'm wrong.

Whew at least it ain’t worse but let’s face it, he’s not gonna be fit for at least a month. At least it happened now and not in mid-January.

2 weeks is very good news. Having him back for conference play is critical. I feel like timelines for sprains are all over the place in sports. Sometimes the guy is back the next game with no noticeable difference (Powell) and other times it lingers all season. I'll be grateful if two weeks ends up being an accurate assessment.

It's also possible that the timeline puts Anderson, medical staff & Heron himself in an interesting position. Arizona game is in 10 days in San Fran. Heron's a competitor who if it's 50/50 will probably want to make the trip and give it a go. Hopefully everyone makes the prudent decision if it comes to that. That game is a very big opportunity but not a must win. Having a healthy Heron for the Big East grind is the priority.

I am sure many here have suffered more than one sprained ankle, I sure have. The recovery time line can be very unpredictable so we shall see. For those who think they can predict the type or severity of an injury by the initial pain, good luck. Next man (men) up! Starting, I think will be Williams.

I wonder if he is in a boot, to protect/immobilize.

I think Dunn will start alongside Rutherford. Anderson plays everyone so it doesn't matter that much.

that was my initial thought, but starting the 2 of them, makes subbing a bit more difficult (rest, secondary team, etc)

i think you still start Ruth with Williams at the 2.

Dunn comes in, to give Ruth a break....

Starting Rutherford and Williams gives us no scoring threat from the backcourt. No matter what, LJ is probably going to be facing some double teaming.

You have to factor in Steere now as well.
