Harrison is climbing the ladder

amazing 2 of the top 5 on the same team and we couldn't get over the hump

Shows how important a point guard is. Kareem Reid not wanting to stay home still kills me.

If we make a run this year and next year in the Big East and NIT/NCAA Harrison is going to end up awfully close to Mullin and Sealy. If he hadn't gotten himself suspended he would have had a pretty good chance of passing Mullin.

If my count is correct Harrison has now cracked the top ten in all time St. John's scoring passing the great Sonny Dove. Harrison's current total is 1599 (see below). He should move into ninth place, passing Tony Jackson next, during the Big East tournament. Although people can debate whether he will play at the next level, there is no denying that Harrison brings something special to the table at this level. His off the charts three late in the second OT was the key moment in today's wild Marquette victory. While he has had a few games where he has been lacking, he steps up and delivers in big spots more often than any other player we have on our roster.

1) Chris Mullin 2440
2) Malik Sealy 2402
3) Felipe Lopez 1937
4) Bob Zawoluk 1826
5) Zendon Hamilton 1810
6) George Johnson 1763
7) David Russell 1753
8 Glen Williams 1727
9) Tony Jackson 1603
10) D'Angelo Harrison 1599
11) Sonny Dove 1576

Lets remember he has the 3 p t shot those ahead of him did not

Based on his 3pt %, he might have scored more if he wasn't tempted to take 3's. His numbers may have been hurt by having the three point line. ;)

Also, some of the guys on that list passed guys who played when there was no shot clock. Their scoring totals surpassed others who might have been better players but they played when there were fewer possessions.

The game changes and numbers will always be skewed as a result. You just have to take it as it is.

His three point % is close to his overall fg% at least this year and without the threat of the 3 where the defender has to come out and guard him he probably would be less of an offensive threat so I disagree with your assertion. believe DLo as has many others have been helped by the 3. Mullin still took many long jumpers even thou there wasn't a 3 so an extra point for all those shots would definitely helped his scoring totals.

I love Dlo but this team will be served best if he averages 15-17 next season with Jakaar, Rysheed and Opekpa all averaging double digits and players like PG having games like they did yesterday where he shot well while not holding the ball for long periods in a stagnant offense. Dlo does not have 40 games left to play in an SJU uniform, unless we make deep runs in the post season each of the next two seasons, which could be if we play in the NIT heaven forbid, so I don't see him getting 800 points.
He will be remembered much more favourably if we get to the Big Dance this season and next.

True enough

Shows how important a point guard is. Kareem Reid not wanting to stay home still kills me.

Kareem Reid wanted to stay home and play with Felipe and Zendon. Brian Mahoney did not want him for reasons better left unsaid. We would have been a power with Kareem running the break.

Just to be accurate here I wanted to correct my previous post that had Harrison in the top ten of St. John's career scores with 1599 career points. He is actually is eleventh with 1571 points about to pass The great Sonny Dove to go in to the top ten. Here is the corrected list.

1)Chris Mullin 2440
2) Malik Sealy 2402
3) Felipe Lopez 1937
4) Bob Zawoluk 1826
5) Zendon Hamilton 1810
6) George Johnson 1763
7) David Russell 1753
8 Glen Williams 1727
9) Tony Jackson 1603
10) Sonny Dove 1576
11)D'Angelo Harrison 1571
12) Wayne McKoy 1536
13) DJ Kennedy 1504
14) Billy Schaeffer 1484
15) Anthony Glover 1434
16) Lavor Postell 1427
17) Walter Berry 1424

Exactly on point there. He could have brought that team together.

He doesn't belong on the list, not only did the players ahead of him not have a 3 point line, but they didn't have tattoos. :silly:

Tats & all somebody must like him;

@StJohnsBBall: Congrats to First Team All-BIG EAST selection D'Angelo Harrison, #SJUBB's first @BIGEAST First Team selection since @iamdabronx1523 in 2011!
