@Grand Canyon, Tues. Dec. 5, 11:30p, ESPNU 970AM

Should be a quiet board at that late an hour. Us retirees will keep you poor workin stiff youngins up to speed. :p :)

I'm one of those retirees who doesn't sleep straight through the night. This game sets up ok (not ideal) for me - go to sleep at 10 and wake up at 1 to see the last 10 minutes of the game! Luckily we have spare bedrooms in NC the kids have vacated so my wife won't kill me when I do this...

Why is this game starting so late? Phoenix is only 2 hours behind, so its starting at 9:30 local time. On top of the long travel and time difference, the late local start could hurt us. Why not start at 7pm local time - 9pm EST?

Arizona is playing Texas A&M in first game at 7PM.

AD Goff posted on twitter that team is traveling out early tomorrow so hopefully gives them time to adjust by Tues night

Great 2nd Half!!! Time to head West early in the morning!!! @StJohnsBBall @StJohnsRedStorm #SJUBB

I would guess Lovett doesn't even make the trip if he is not going to be able to play. No reason forcing an injured kid to make a cross country trip if he can't play. Better off rehabbing in Queens. This means we should have a good idea of his status by tomorrow?

Was about to post to ipd that they should leave monday morning, one night should be good enough.
Two nights and they'll be ready, no reason why they shouldn't be, they're practically all kids.

2 bigs 6-10 and 6-11 they went to Italy and Latvia to recruit them. Why couldn't we go to similar countries and bring big strong forward or

center aboard If we were having trouble recruiting here. I do not know how good they are but any team we play now that has that kind oh ht gives us trouble

Kenpom goves StJohn’s a 75% chance of victory forecasting a final score of 76 to 69. Let’s hope the computer is correct.

Actually I think they didn’t recruit a big man because they didn’t want to take away your opportunity for the Guinness book for the most consecutive negative posts on any Internet site. Man, enough already. We are what we are, 7-1 with 3/4 of the season to go. Let it play out without the same broken record posts ad infinitum.

I always find these non-conference games important in the sense that it's the easiest ways to pile up victories before the conference schedule starts. Because then the wins won't come as often. If St. Johns can win 10 non-conference games, they're half way to 20 wins already. When they only win 5 or 6 non-conference games, you know there will be no post season.
Even when Louie was coach, I'd always get pissed off when they would let a mid major, or Division II team stay in the game till the end. I'd be yelling at the TV or radio, "Stop playing around! Put 'em away!" I get more aggravated when they lose or play bad during the non-conference schedule, since some of those games are their's for the taking.

Still wondering why we're playing this team on the road? Are we getting a return game back at Alumni Hall in the future?

maybe Dan Majerle connection or lower cost if we're going West anyway for Az. St ?

At least it's a somewhat neutral site and not on GCU campus.

We (Lavin) did go to Italy for a big strong forward in Amar AliB only problem is he is not strong and doesn't play big.

Really just give it a rest, we are having a good season so far. We are playing small this year, get over it. Next year we will have five big men and he will still complain.

Good question, they should playing in our house we are the big east team. Respect the job Dan Majerle has done but this is kind of a lose lose situation for us. They are good enough to beat us in what is essentially a home game for them. But not good enough to really move the needle for us come selection time if we win (which we should). Hopefully the committee considers this a road game and not a neutral site game.

More concerned about their guards and forwards then the two Freshman foreigners. They may be good players at some point but don' think they are any better then Yawke and Owens at this time.

It's less of a lose-lose than playing Molloy. If anything kills us in the committee's eyes when compared to teams with similar records, it'll probably be that one.
