If he's not here soon the only reason I'm willing to accept is that he was eaten by cannibals after a tournament in South America.

Back in the Day, Timmy Higgins and Jim Burr were excellent College Referees. While they may have stayed a year or 2 too long, they deserve better than what some posters are giving here. I saw many a game, in the Lou Era, where Timmy and Jim made some very good calls that favored us, in gray area situations.

The Game changes and officiating styles and philosophies change too.. Sometimes, its' not the Refs but, what the Leagues and Conferences want called.. 3 Second violations have largely gone by the wayside.. Definition of what is a charge and what is a block have too.

All refs will miss a call, from time to time. Often times, the Make up call will atone for those miscues.

Just my opinion.

Great, they made bad calls 20 plus years ago then screwed us for decades. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

3 man crews are good and bad
The good is that each man covers less area so, in theory, they can make more calls correctly
The bad is that old timers that should have gotten out years ago are able to hang on long past their time of usefulness because they don't have to run as much as they used to
