Good luck to all my fellow Floridian posters, especially those on the West Coast.

As many of us down in Florida today we are just cleaning up the mess, dealing with a roof leak or two and perhaps some downed trees. To those who live near the west coast there are greater issues. To those in Naples and the surrounding area, prayers are with you.

This showed up right down the road from us…

Seriously hope all is okay. Been in contact with both yesterday and today with family and friends who live in and around Tampa, Fort Meyers or Orlando. Haven't heard from the Fort Meyers folks this morning but the others are okay and not too worst off as far as damage goes according to them. Some have power some don't.

How did everyone make out? My father-in-law lives in Punta Gorda on a canal going out to the Peace River. He is currently visiting us in London, so no idea what kind of damage he has suffered yet. He had 5 feet of storm surge clearance, so he likely has some ugly damage to return home to.
If he has water damage in home it is important to get it dried out ASAP to prevent mold. I used Servpro after Sandy in Breezy Point. Also if his car was under water, don't use it as it can easily short out.

All is well Sterling, no damage, have no power, but so fortunate compared to so many folks near the water in Naples and Fort Myers.

Very glad to hear that Paultz, was worried seeing news footage of Fort Meyers & Naples. My brother, who lives in Sarasota area, was also thankfully spared of any home damage. We are supposed to take our hit in Charlotte area tomorrow, which will be mostly lots of rain and pretty heavy winds. Hoping folks in Charleston area don't get it too bad.

lost many roof shingles and lanai screen panels. our front door was blown open and al gore would be proud of our green living room. there is about 2 weeks of dead branches awaiting my rake and back. thanks for the concern,
we lost our large cyprus tree that was in our front yard. we are safe.
fake news - cbs stated that venice had 5.3 inches of rain. it was over 22.
we are 5 miles due east of the gulf. the venice theatre is one mile due east of the gulf. that building was wiped out.
areas south of venice to south fort myers took big hits.
saw emergency vehicles from Pennsylvania and Indiana helping out. God bless the USA.

Joe, glad to hear you and your wife are safe! Unbelievable hurricane. I heard we had 115 mph winds go through Venice. Have no idea what shape my house is in in Islandwalk. Everything is so flooded. Some pictures and videos coming from those neighbors that stayed. Structures look OK. Worried about roof and window leaks. Probaby lost some screening on the lanai. Hope to get someone in there this weekend. Stay safe!!
