Not totally accurate. The SEC prohibits football players from transferring to another team inside the conference during the spring transfer portal window and receive immediate eligibility.I read something where the SEC does not allow conference transfers in football and players must sit out a year. Can I hope?
Thanks for the clarification. I saw it recently which is the spring window so it makes sense on the timing. Not totally accurate. The SEC prohibits football players from transferring to another team inside the conference during the spring transfer portal window and receive immediate eligibility.
That rule applies for all players, including graduate transfers, who are normally allowed to enter the transfer portal at any time without losing eligibility.
However, a player can transfer from on SEC school to another in the fall and receive immediate eligibility and can compete in all spring and summer activities and play in the fall. There were plenty of instances where players transferred inside the conference during the winter transfer portal, as the rule only applies for the spring portal window.
I concur with your best wishes. The kid paid his dues and he seemed like a good teammate. I'm glad he's getting his chance to play now.Darn.
Wishing him the best of luck in all but two games.
One could argue that he didHe should have gone down to a lower level team
