CJ certainly did himself a world of good with his play this year
It will create many options for him - another college or professionally overseas
Selfishly, I wish he had decided to come back - he could have helped us next year
Most importantly, I am very pleased to see that he will earn his degree this spring
He was an asset to our program and I wish him well in his future endeavors
I was disappointed w CJ in the beginning of this year and last year. But, I agree, he has improved a lot, and is a big body. He could have provided depth and exp. next year. Than he would be gone leaving a spot for an open scholi in 17. I , too am disappointed he is leaving.Truth is I am sad to see him go. I wish him all the very best and trust the staff implicitly but I love the progress he made this past season and felt next year could have also been very positive had he continued to work hard under the tutelage of the staff. He never complained or caused trouble and represented the school well. I wish him all the best in his future endeavours.
I wish CJ the best in his future endeavors.
With respect to what we would yield as a result of his departure I have to say last night made me appreciate the "long game" a lot more. Rather than maybe taking a C+ player available on the transfer market immediately this offseason, I'd rather try to reel in an extra B+ or A- player in 2017/ 2018.
CJ wouldn't affect 17 recruiting. He would be gone by than. That's why I feel there is little risk in keeping him and potential upside. But, the coaching staff knows more than me. I'm thinking the staff has an eye on a grad transfer, who they think will help more than CJ.I wish CJ the best in his future endeavors.
