Glory Days

Throughout the 1980's and most of the 90's we were Syracuse's equal. Since about 2003 Syracuse has dominated us. Bad coach selection. I hope we're like Villanova, they were a force in the 80's and then went into a slide in the 90's and rebounded after 2000 to become a national power.Maybe after Boeheim retires Syracuse will go into a slide like SJU did after changing coaches.

Was at the Garden for this game . The building was electric !!!!!!!!!1 as I walked to my seat I saw Herbie , he was totally comatose in anticipation . You could have sold your tickets for $500.The public interest was so great . There was no way i was going to sell my 2 tickets . This was a once in a life time event and i was going to be present.

Next year will be a pivotal point in the success of this program. Lavin's got the horses now. He has tremendous depth on this roster and most of them have played together for a full season. There is no excuse why this should not be a Top 25 team in 2013-'14.

Clearly, the MULBERRY years were the high water mark for the Redmen over the last 50 plus years..It's hard to believe that it was over 25 years ago..

Younger fans, alums may not realize how great the Program was during the Louie era and why there is such frustration with the results for most of this decade..

I, for one, correlate much of the mismanagement of the BB situation to FH, since he meddled into the Coaching decisions involving Fraschella, Jarvis, Roberts.

Fran should have never been fired.. But, choosing Jarvis over McKILLOP, due to the Rutledge doctrine of, "not being able to recruit 125th Street," was a travesty and blatant racism. FH allowed it to be a influence.
Choosing Roberts with a weak resume was even worse as it wasted more time in rebuilding the program after Jarvis destroyed it.

Lavin was a good hire to replace Norm but, the jury is still out on what will result in years 4 and 5, which will determine his fate.
