This kid is quickly falling into the Billy Singleton and Ty Grant category.
And that is a big compliment coming from me.

Totally agree. I think that role on this team is evolving between Taylor, Dunlop and Conway at that position. There will be some nights when they might get no playing time because one of them is playing exceptional. Clearly Coach Pitino is sending a message to the team that it is all hands-on deck and be ready to play.
Just for that, I can see Pitino staring Conway.

Alot of players got no minutes last night including Drissa and Conway. I think Coach makes the substitutions based on the matchups. I suspect going forward Taylor will be back in regular rotation starting with the Villanova game since Nova has so many similar sized players to Taylor. Taylor is a swiss army knife in my opinion and he will be back

Since Marillac has been pining for Taylor to get more involved offensively and we all know of his dislike for Jenkins, I think Pitino is providing a teaching moment to Marillac that this is his team and he seems to be making all these coaching moves to spite Marillac's ideas.

I like Taylor. He did nothing wrong to get benched. But, he also does not do anything great out there either.
Hes a good defender, average offensive player etc.
Luis and Brady bring more juice on the offensive end then Taylor. Pitino was looking to score last night. Taylor was the odd man out.
I suspect there will be more nights like this for him moving forward. And that is great news for St Johns and shows how much talent Pitino has put together in such a short time.
It probably would have been more like this for Taylor from the get go but Luis was hurt so Taylor got ore playing time.

In my opinion when you do NOTHING poorly, that is doing SOMETHING great.

Rick Pitino is a masterful tactician who will use the players who give him the best chance to win the game at hand.
Trying to analyze the minutes guys play game to game is a waste of time.
CRP is all about winning and will use the chess pieces that give him the best chance.

Also. I don’t see how inquiring about a starter and big minute guy getting absolutely zero run out of nowhere in a BE game, is unjustified. I truly don’t believe for a second that is was only Rick thinking he couldn’t help us out there tonight. Especially considering another guy who shares some minutes with him was not 100%.
It doesn’t worry me at all and love how he was cheering. But to be wondering about the cause is 100% acceptable.

Agree with Taylor, but overall i think trying to analyze minutes game to game with Pitino will prove to be a lesson in futility.
Rick was really mad at Taylor for a few plays at UBS on Saturday. Spoke to him for a long stretch during a few timeouts and did not look happy. Maybe trying to send message. It worked with Alleyne earlier in the year. He is playing great team ball right now.
Taylor is a good player and integral component for this team. I expect him to play well at Nova on Saturday.
