in order for that to happen, doesn't he need to find a major not offered at st. johns?
I mentioned in the game thread on the Jungle that I heard a rumor that Gift is going to Harvard next year for grad school and will use his last year of eligibility there. If true, we have an open scholarship. Is it for a guard or do we look for a big body?
We had a guy who could crack Harvard's rotation?in order for that to happen, doesn't he need to find a major not offered at st. johns?

72, don't know why you're so anti-Lavin, but it's tedious.

Doesn't make sense. Why would he sit all year just to go somewhere else? You may be right, but the logic seems to be lacking from this scenario.

No scholarships at Harvard, though.
No scholarships at Harvard, though.
Yet somehow they manage. They have a freshman big from Nigeria coming in and Gift is a good fit there. The way Chris Jones looked yesterday, it might be an opportunity of mutual benefit.

So then sitting him truly backfires! All we need now is for Sampson to enter the NBA draft, Harrison and Bourgault to sign with a team in Paris, Sanchez to sign with a team in Bilbao and we can get to see the walk ons play again next year. LOL!
Thank God Lavin coached himself out of the USC job!!

You must have me confused with Fun or Ray Morgan or any of the other dozen here who regularly bash Lavin but I am not, nor ever been anti-Lavin! I comment about his coaching strategy and substitution moves which is the purpose of this forum.
What is tedious is that THREE (3) years after Lavin was hired, with a similar record to Norm Roberts in year three, that some long distance fans that watch our games from the comfort of their living rooms and have no clue write the following:
"This group was put together, miraculously, by Lavin and Co. in desperation and against all odds."
Against all odds?!?!? Are you freaking for real? You guys have no problem bashing these players after every loss. Since when does the coach at St. John's, Wake Forest or anywhere else get a pass after losses??
You, Westie, are the same guy that responding to my comments not to put total blame on Pointer, went on diatribe about how it was all his fault and that he was clearly the aggressor. Nice work being "pro-team"!
Tedious? You must read all my good stuff! I suggest you scroll over like I do your self-righteous posts.
Tedious....anti-Lavin? When I start threads like "Lavin, the Genuis", and there are 78 guys that take the bait...that is tedious!
Tedious? Tedious is when some sanctimonious mod bans a kid because his posts are longer than his boring posts.
Tedious? Tedious is when guys who have little regard for others opinion but their own call others tedious.
Tedious? Tedious is when YOU all of a sudden, after watching Xtian Jones play some minutes, because Lavin, in his recruiting desperation lost his primary recruits, Jarel Martin and Rico Gathers from Louisiana, make a bold statement that Lavin was wrong in his assessment of Jones! Yeah, he played well as a "SUB" but also made two passes to a Marquette player! They are called turnovers and assists.
What is tedious here are guys who think their crap does not stink and then stink up the board by telling others that only their crap stinks. Guys that are challenged in a thread spend the next few weeks taking pot shots at the poster that disagreed with them, etc.
Grow some skin "buddy"! Why pick on a basketball coach on redmen.com when we can kick a Vincentian priest from here to China?
