Thoughts?
I can say three things for sure: (1) Giants fans are the most negative in the world, (2) Larry Donnell is exponentially better than Brandon "the disappointment" Myers, and (3) Beatty is just awful.
Surprise, surpise, but I am actually optimistic. I think Eli is the most underrated player in the league. It's gross that the guy can't even set his feet with the awful line. The reason for hope is I fully expected them to struggle in September with the Pro Bowl guard, Schwartz out until the 8th game, a rookie starting at LG, a 2nd year guy starting at RT, a new Center starting his first game, and and a new RG starting. To make things worse, they go up against one of the best D-Lines in the league on the road IN A DOME. Ouch. Communication was a big problem.
The Giants receivers are just not a smart group. Eli told Donnell what to do and he blaantly ignored him, causing an interception. Eli signals to change a play with those stupid hand signals, and both Cruz and Jernigan block on a sprint out to their side, leaving Manning as sack bait.
There is no speed out there right now. They really need ODB to be on the field to run off the safeties. I really hope they add Lamichael James. That is a freaking gift from the 49'ers. He'd be a perfect change of pace for big and slow, bigger and slower, and biggest and slowest 4.37 40, good hands, runs hard--not Bradshaw hard--but hard. That's the kind of back we need to win Super Bowls and that is the kid of back you need to make this kind of offense dangerous.
