General Posts Regarding Women’s Bball Team

It is virtually impossible for someone to get a table at Rao's. No reservations ever. First, it is tiny, only 8-10 tables. Second, only open M-Th not on the weekends. Every night every table is 'spoken for'.

They don't turn tables over, it is yours for the night. Celebrities have standing "table nights" Chuck Scarborough every Wednesday, Dick Schapp (RIP) was Tuesday, Mike Piazza (Thursdays), and even friends and family of the owners only get allocated one table 4 times a year.

How did St. John's WBB get to do an event there?

My guess is they are normally only open for dinner, and so it was easier and someone, maybe Coach T. himself, has a special connection to an owner.

Cash only too, no written menu, the waiter pulls up a chair and says "Wat youse guys thinkin' tonight, meatballs, lemon chicken and seafood salad, right?"

I hope their in-house tamater sauce is better than the slop they sell in the supermarkets. Oh!

Three posts in and the thread is already derailed. Madonne!

Note that it says the event was in the afternoon. Not during normal operating hours then since they open a 7pm. There's good money for restaurant buyouts for events.

Since the tread is already derailed I’ll add to it.

Every year my kid’s school auctions off a dinner for 12 guests, where the head chef from Raos comes to your house to cook. Usually goes for between $3,500 - $4,000. No idea where he lives but we are in Northern NJ.
