If Pitino happens, I can 100 percent see Speedy here six years from now. So I think everyone should be a Hofstra fan except when we've scheduled them, and root for 27 wins a season from them. I don't see them play where I am, but I assume you guys out there definitely get their games televised.
Is Speedy has Success like this at Hofstra for the next 6 years, he will be long gone to a bigger program.

If Speedy is a top candidate for us 6 years from now it will be because he has been quite successful during that time, and if that it is the case it would be highly likely that another power 6 school will have poached him by then. It would sort of be like the timing never being right for us to sign Jay Wright.

My point is that he won't be around at Hofstra for another 6 years if he is this successful.
yea that makes sense. I bet Speedy is at a different job within 1-3 years. I still don't think that means he wouldn't be an option post Pitino but goddamn we are really putting the cart before the horse with this discussion lol. I just wanna get Pitino first lol

Not sure Estrada has another year (Covid or otherwise)... but will be interesting to see how he re-shapes his roster and adapts. Might need to strike when the iron is hot... as Jay did when he had a Stud player...

Again I don't want to seem like I am knocking Speedy because I think he did a real good job and may turn out to be a terrific coach. But let's not pretend he rebuilt Hofstra. Joe Mihalich's last 2 seasons at Hofstra 2018-19 and 2019-20 (2020-21 he missed the entire season for health reasons and then stepped down) they won the regular season title and in 2020 had won the post season Tourney but of course the NCAA's were cancelled.

Mihalich rebuilt Hofstra. Now if Speedy can keep it going that is something that is also impressive. So don't want to knock that achievement either. But Hofstra's arrow was already pointing up.

This is it for Estrada college eligibility wise.
