Simon is so limited offensively. Instead of putting up a traditional jumper, he drifts and prays.
His form is anything but traditional

IMO St.John's offense has over the past few games seems hurried and disorganized consisting solely of spreading the floor and passing it from corner to corner before someone chucks up a shot.

There is a difference between a team playing quick and playing hurried.

I am not as optimistic as many posters about how St. John's does in games against Butler, Villanova, and Marquette.

Nothing here screams top 3 in Big East.

Hoping major adjustments in 2nd half.

Heron's game seems off

Once again a first half in which we look disinterested. Simon looks like he is thinking too much on his shot, Ponds is not looking for his shot enough and Heron really looks uncomfortable offensively. Trimble does at least try on defense, don't mind having him in there at all.

Really kind of disappointed how we came out against this pretty weak team after a week off. Thank God for Figgy.

Simon, Clark and Heron have been putrid in the first half. Simon is dreadful finishing and especially on the foul line, Clark is a horrible interior passer......tossed two passes directly into the hands of a Seahawk. Heron is regressing under the tutelage of Mitch Richmond. Three point defense? FUGGETABOUTIT! Team not well prepared or motivated. That's on the coaches!

IMO, it hasn't "screamed" that none during OOC play (maybe, our play for most of the Rutgers game, but that's about it).

This is why I never truly understood some posters referring to this being our best roster in two decades. Yes, on paper we looked up to par, but realistically we hadn't really proven anything to warrant such praise.

The 1998-1999 team would be beating the tar out of Wagner right about now. Similarly, as they would've done to this entire OOC schedule.

I get so annoyed seeing no guys or 1 guy even remotely close to the hoop on offense even attempting to rebound

Freeman the Flea is bothing Ponds defensively.

Mike.....the announcers made the same comment as they have in previous games.
I'm waiting for the 5-out believers here to offer a rational explanation of our game plan other than 5 guys waiting to shoot at the 3 point line.
It could be a reason why our players blow so many bunnies when they find themselves anywhere near the basket.

It's not like they are physic and knew it was going in. jeez you know you have the size and athletic advantage but you dont even try to take advantage of it

Which is why we need Keita back, even if he doesn’t score a point at least he’ll keep the defense from breaking out when we whistle up bad shots

Ponds with 8 assists and 0 turnovers - impressive stats, but still wish he'd look for his shot more. 4 shots for him with 15 minutes left in the game is not making best use of his talent.

It is really annoying that this team (other than Ponds) doesn't shoot free throws better. If there is one thing you'd expect of a team with Mullin & Richmond on staff, it's good foul shooting!

What is the disparity between first and second half stats for this team?
