Maybe someone was under the impression that the 40 minutes were for the season and not the game
 
Personnel decisions on this team are certainly perplexing. Stanley in tonight, but no sign of him Saturday.

I thought about that as well.  I think CMA really didn't trust his bench earlier, so, he cut the rotation and was playing our big 3 of Wusu, Posh, and Champ a lot of minutes so they cut down on the press to manage their minutes.  Now guys like Wheeler, Nyiwe, Smith, and Coburn are starting to play better and he's more comfortable pressing because he can switch more guys in and out.  This is the most subbing i've seen him do in a half in a long time.
 
Im wondering if to get Champy to come back, they told him they were run a more pro style offense/defense and feature him in the half court.

And now they have scrapped it as the season was going down the tubes.

Cragg should attempt to schedule all of St. John’s home games at Seton Hall’s Walsh Gym.
