This game gives you insight into why Messres Craag  and Anderson chose to schedule soft pre conference.

All these guys we brought in like Wheeler, Coburn etc. are doing nothing out there.  Its crazy.
Wheeler isn't bringing what I was told by Purdue fans.  Looks like an old man at rec league.  Guess that is why he isn't on Purdue.
He really does.

First two games this year, we were lights out from 3.  Clearly, that was masking what were a lot of issues for this team on offense.

That last ten seconds shows you exactly the risk and the reward of playing full court D. I think it’s dumb in that spot to stretch the Defense. But I also would have said that before we got the steal and 2 points on the previous possession. So what do I know?

Establish Soriano as a threat and it will go a long way for Champ and Posh. Those guys aren’t isolation scorers and right now we aren’t creating good shots for them with the offense we are running. Cause you’re right, if threes aren’t falling, good looks have been hard to come by.

When Champ and Posh are not playing at a high level, we are not a very good team.

At this point, we can only hope that this team is playing down because they have no motivation playing these crap teams.

If we get waxed by Kansas, this is probably a bad team.  If we look good against Kansas, this team just doesnt get up for these crappy games.

Champ better stat playing a lot better if he want to try and get to the next level. Scouts will not be looking at him to favorable since the beginning of the yr

How do you get the kids to get up for the dregs on the schedule?  Do you offer less practices if you demolish them?  Do you threaten to run if they don't cover the spread?  Do you run a practice right before the game so the players are "warmed up" for the game?

Seems we "always" are playing to our competition level.

This is true and that might seem simple. Take away the two best players on most teams and they will struggle. I love posh, I don’t think he is built to be the second scoring option on a really good team. If smith emerged as a legitimate double digit scoring threat from the backcourt and someone who could create a shot for himself that would go along way. And yes I know he’s averaging double digits already but this is not the BE.

I love Champ, but he is not an nba player.  He can barely take guys from NJIT and FDU off the dribble.  He just cant blow by anyone.  He is not getting drafted.

We don't have anyone else to pick up the slack, and this is against low D1 teams. We  Haven't watched much of other Big East teams to know if they do or don't.

Dont schedule them.  If we are a legit high major D1 program, play better teams.  Iona, St Bonnies etc.  You dont have to play duke and gonzaga, but play real teams that will give you a challenge.

Schedule 2 cupcakes to start the season and then thats it.  Sandwiching 3 cupcakes between Indiana and Kansas was an awful idea.

Dayton beat Kansas at Kansas. We need to be very competitive next Friday. That will tell us what we need to know about these guys more than this game.

If this is going to be every year with these early season woes then I really have to question CMA.
